Gas type is on rating label and is probably r600a (butane)
whether it can be repaired if there is a leak, depends quite simply, where the leak is.
what makes you think there is a leak??

Im looking at buying an LG fridge with the double doors and freezer on the bottom. It also has the ice machine and water hook ups but it needs a gas refill how much will that cost?

I wouldn't buy any modern fridge that needs a gas refill. Needing a refill means that it has a leak. Modern fridges are 'sealed unit' compressors and should NEVER leak. If they do then there is a leak, often in the evaporator coils inside the fridge and commonly between the copper to aluminium joins. These leaks would need to be repaired however most piping is not easily accessible. Cost may be $100 to $300 for re-gas plus repair $$$ and unless the leak was located and repaired then you will be re-gassing again in days, weeks or months.
LEAK needs FIX LEAK and re-gas.

Fridge not cold and freezer working like a fridge

Check temp setting. Freezer temp is -14*f to 8*F and Fridge temp is 36*F to 46*F
As per your statement seems to be chock in thew system. Check for whistling sound in freezer. If not check gas pressure by keeping arm in condenser coil. If warm, gas is o.k. but chock is confirmed.
Remove all gas, flush out system. Vacuum and do gas charging. Thanks.

Freezer not making ice

Must start from either a faulty compressor or a gas leak. So put off fridge to cool off then switch on , If there is no cooling in about 2 hours, the compressor or the gas pumping is down provided there is gas in the system. So if the compressor is working warm, please take help to get the compressor pumping or the gas checked so as to confirm. Then estimate and decide.

Build up of ice in bottom of freezer compartment

During the defrost cycle heaters in the wall of the freezer are turned on to melt the frost build up. This melted frost "water" is supposed to run out a drain in the bottom of the freezer and collect in a pan under the refrigerator/freezer where it will eventually evaporate. If this drain is blocked it will cause a lot of water to collect in the bottom of the freezer and that water will eventually turn back into ice. I recommend defrosting the freezer manually, removing all the ice/water buildup in the bottom, and trying to unplug the drain line to the pan underneath. Also check the seal on the freezer door. If it's not sealing well it could be letting a lot of moisture enter the freezer which would lead to more frost buildup and more water during the defrost cycle.
