Question about Vacuums
My vacuum is really, really loud. Everything works, but should it be sooo loud? What could the problem be? I've cleaned all the filters, did everything the troubleshooting manual said to do. The motor works just fine. If this is just how loud the vacuum is, I'm getting another one.

You have to clean out the hose under the bottom of the vacuum cleaner. To do this you have to remove the bottom plate the covers the brush it has about 6 screws. Also remove the brush and belt in order to thourhly clean it. I had the same issue you had. Now it works like new after cleaning this out. The sucktion power is back and it doesn't shut off on me any more. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: Motor getting really loud!
Your Kirby most likely needs a new fan. Please see this link to get the part and do it yourself repair instructions...

Get a professional repairer to examine it. Even with an over-full bag, dirt will not have got in to the motor if the pre-motor filter was correctly positioned and in good condition. However, the motor may have been damaged through lack of air flow and consequent over-heating. Your machine may well need a new motor, and that's a job you won't be able to do for yourself.
