Question about Konica Minolta magicolor 2430 DL Laser Printer
My printer is giving me a message that all of the ink cartridges are not installed, however they are and they are fairly new. I tried cleaning it, disconnecting and connecting again so it can reboot but the problem persists. What can I do next.
I contacted Konica-Minolta. They had me use a pen to depress the toner rack switch on the right hand side so that i could rotate the toner cartridges. I removed and replaced each cartridge, then used the pencil eraser. Then I had to use the rubber eraser from a pencil to clean the three contacts on the right hand side of each toner cartridge. After doing this, the unit again immediately worked.
While I had been using a paper towel to clean all the excess toner and on all the contacts on each toner cartridge, that apparently isn't enough even though the contacts looked clean. Perhaps there is a film of toner which gets on the little three contact site on the right of the cartridge.
The technical person also said if this didn't solve the problem, that he would have me remove all the toner cartridges and clean the electrical switch which comes in contact with the three little contacts on the cartridges (Perhaps that is the chip reader referred to by the previous post).
This must be a fairly common problem with this unit. I suspect that it occurs because there is so much free toner inside. However, I will now keep a pencil with a rubber eraser handy to keep it going. I will also keep the solution shown immediately before this one since it seems reasonable as well.

Firs of all, pleas use search, here are many problem like this, this is a common problem for MC 24xx/25XX series.
you have to remove pc drum, and all toners, find small black plastic switch on right side from toners push it down with screwdriver, then you can rotate the toner rack manually, remove all toners, under the toners in right side you will see a chip reader with 3 pins, first check that all pins are in same level, if ok, then use pressure air to clean it, also clean toner chips, then reinstall everything.
If no help, then replace chip reader.
