Printer keeps running old print reguest and blank sheets . Will not stop running even when printing is canceled . All this occurred after new Dell ink cartridge was in stalled .

  • rpatrick64 Aug 22, 2008

When I click to print the printer diagram shows up on the screen . The blue line that runs horizonal to show the percentage of printing that has run takes about a second to run 100% . The printing diagram then shuts off without printing anything .

The best way to solve this problem is to uninstall all drivers and reinstall all drives for the printer that way you will have clean setup and it will not give you any more problems and not print on its own.

thanks
hope this works for you

Disconnect the printer from the computer then reboot everything.

delete all print queues (while printer still disconnected).
delete the printer icon
re-connect the printer & the computer will auto detect it.

Before uninstalling or reinstalling drivers, try first to Disable the printer.

Go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes
Right-click your default pinter > Disable. Turn off printer for about 2 minutes.
Enable now the printer icon on printers and faxes (right-click then Enable). Turn on Printer now and try to print.

Or you can simply switch the Ports that it's using temporarily on the pinter settings

Again on Printers and Faxes, Right-Click your default printer icon > Properties
Go to Ports tab. You can see there check boxes where in the USB is checked. Check the other ports like LPT1 or File and click Apply. Now put check to the USB again and hit OK. Then try to print.

Hope that helps!

Goto your printers and faxes, uninstall your printer from there, restart the computer and the printer. it should stop printing old things, and you need to install the printer again, but it should do that automatically as you have the drivers and software on your computer, so just restart and should work fine.

Its possible that its a buffer on the printer depending on the type of printer that you have. Turn off your printer for about 5 mins then cancel all prints then restart your computer before turning on the printer.

Try removing the ink cartridges then turn off the printer. Turn on the printer and reinstall the ink cartridges. See if that fixes it. Although there would be no logical reason why it would fix it but sometimes it is the case with problems like this.

Try reinstalling printer drivers, from disk or from Dell website.

    Do the following:

    • Unplug printer USB from computer.

    • Uninstall printer from 'installed printers' in Windows Control Panel.

    • Insert printer disk or install drivers after download from Dell website here :
      Drivers and Downloads

    • Run printer drivers setup wizard and follow instructions.

    • Connect printer when asked by setup wizard.

This should fix the problem, unless printer is faulty, but it does not look faulty from description.

I ran out of both black and color ink. I replaced the black ink b/c I do not print in color. But I cannot complete the alignment steps without the color ink.

Lexmark printers usually require both cartridges to have ink left in them to continue printing. But try to press the Cancel button for the Alignment process (this is not recommended). Then try to print a document again to verify that you are able to continue printing without an empty color ink.
If that doesn't help, I would suggest you replace your color cartridge with a new genuine Lexmark cartridge.

4315 Hp Printer will not align.

restart your printer like this: go to control panel>
performance and maintenance>administrative tools> services> scroll down until you come to print spooler, click on this then on the upper side of your screen you will see restart, click on it.
This should get you up and running. Shame on your repair man for not showing you how to fix the problem.
You could even try not aligning the cartridges, this will just cause your printer to spit out an alignment page each time you turn it on but still should go ahead and print for you.
let me know how if this helps.

Not printing after color cartridge ran out - new black cartridge installed.

Yes, this printer has fixed printheads and must have ink in each color to prevent damage to the printheads. Even when printing black only each color is spit in the servicing area to keep the printhead unclogged.

After changing cartridge, printer will not print, z645?

First... check to make sure you removed the yellow tab from the new print cartridge

put the ink cartridge back into the printer

click Start
click Control Panel
open Printers and Faxes
click (or double click to open) your printer icon
click on Printer menu
click on cancel all documents

Then try printing again.
If this does not work, look in the manual that came with the printer and check out the troubleshooting section.

Print faded after replacing black cartridge Brother 240C

The print heads don't appreciate being out of ink so the Brother printer has sensors to prevent that but the tape defeated that prevention. Maybe more cleanings or maybe a cartridge with printhead cleaning solution will help. Otherwise, I fear a new printer.
