Unlocking can be done online. From my experience www.unlocking4u.com provides good and reliable unlocking service. Submit your IMEI to get the codes.

unfortunately these are not compatible. nextel is an iden carrier, while att is a gsm carrier. it's like apples and oranges. If you need to transfer contacts then you can get that done at any best buy. they will usually do it for free or for a minimal cost.. good luck

The i856 is an iDEN phone.  iDen runson BOOST Mobile/Nextel ONLY.  It cannot run on t-mobile, which is a GSM system.  It is not possible, even if you unlock the phone, they are completely different radios and networks.
