same here! I thought it could possibly be the battery? But mine is also under a year old and the battery hasn't been exposed to any extreme conditions or anything like that.

My camera was working fine and now the battery will not charge and I cannot even turn the camera on. Mine is under a year old also. Does anyone have any ideas to share. This was not a cheap camera to not be working after only a few months. When I put the battery on the charger the red light just blinks continuouslyalso. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I've had mine for just over a year...I had this problem straight out of the box and customer service said that the battery got damaged from the factory and they sent me as new one. That one worked fine, until about 3 days ago. I hadn't touched it for a couple days, then went to turn it on:nothing. Figured the battery had died without me noticing and tried to charge it: hello, blinking red light!
Trying to get in touch with customer service but I'm concerned that my warranty will conveniently be up.

I have this same problem too... red light just keeps blinking continuously.

amandainmo: which number did you call? Is it 62971312?

I am posting an answer to my own question... I called Casio Customer Service and gave them the model # and problem. They instantly sent me out a brand new battery. Turns out they have had a lot of problems with these batteries and will replace them absolutely free of charge.

Welcome to FixYa.

Red light indicates that the battery is charging. The light will goes off to inform you the charging is complete. Possible that the battery was alreay damaged since you left it charging overnight. Charging time is approximately 5 hours only.

I suggest that you have to replace your battery with a new one.

Battery charging

Usually when the light on the charger either changes from red to green, or some chargers have a blinking light, when it stops blinking. I have seen chargers which also had a light which would turn off when the battery is charged.

Is the red light on the charger suppose to stay on or blinking for the battery to charge?

It is supposed to stay on. If it is blinking then your battery has gone completely dead. You can force the charger to charge the battery by applying a voltage (AA battery w/ wires worked for me) across the charging terminals while inserting the battery. You'll have to take the charger apart for this.

The blinking light indicates a charging error. Try connecting a 9 volt battery to your camera battery. Sometimes if the battery has lost all charge, the charger doesn't recognize it properly.

Olympus battery charger flashes red when battery is inserted.

"Another way I found was when this happens, to push the battery to the point the light will turn on, when it starts flashing slide it off then back on. Do this a few times so it charges a little, then you should be fine to leave it on."

I tried to do this with my LI-10C Olympus charger and it worked..The blinking red light turns to solid red..Thanks for the info...Now I won't be bothering to buy a new batt.or have my charger checked..

Battery charger flashing red light

Clean contact points of both battery and charger with q-tips dipped in rubbing alcohol. This solved my problem with blinking lights and not charging of the batteries.

Battery charger(BC-11L)

Your Battery is faulty and requires replacment.

Depending on where you are and if it is still within the new warranty period or not depends on how long or how much it will cost to replace the battery. Call the Distributor for Casio in your State or Country and they may even send you one out Free Of Charge.
