How do i down load and view movies on my 1TB eGo Helium 2.0 portable hard drive?

You can't view them on it, it's just for storing the files. To store them you download the file to your pc, connect the drive to the pc and copy them to it in Computer.

Can't figure out how to copy info from Passport to my hard drive

the question here is how did you manage to get the info saved into your passport portable hd in the first place? I don't mean to sound like a smartass but if you did save the files onto your portable hard drive before you wiped your pc's hard drive it should work the same way backwards if you want to access and restore the files back on to your pc from your portable hard drive.

now to answer your question you should simply...
1. plug your portable hard drive (I mean power and usb cable both).
2. turn on your passpost portable hard drive (if needed).
3. your computer should see your portable hard drive now being connected to the usb ports, wait a few seconds for the computer to recognize it and give you access to it.
4. if you don't a pop up asking you what to do with the new device you just connected (passport port. hd) simply go to start>my computer and under removable devices category you should see your portable hard.
5. double click your portable hard drive and you should be staring at the contents of your passport hd.
6. you can copy some or all the folders you find in your portable hd on to a folder that resides in "my documents" folder which is a folder that resides in your pc's hard drive. (if you are not accoustumed to move folder around from one device to another, please ask the help of someone that is familiar with this task or simply select a folder, right click on it, select "copy", then go to the target location, right click on an empty space and select "paste")

if you are not able to do this 1-6, you may have not completed setting your system, and it's possible that you may still need to install drivers for you usb hub (for instance) to have your system being able to work with usb devices.

post back with your findings and any details of any problems encountered along the way.

hope this helps!

I have plugged in my iomega portable hard drive and want to backup my computer. How do I do that?

If the drive connecting through a USB port you will see a new drive letter under my computer. You should use the backup utility of your computer to backup your PC onto the new drive or selectively copy documents from your computer's hard drive onto the portable hard drive.

I bough a portable hard drive it is deleting imformation every time i delete information from my computer the portable hard drive does the same

You must have installed software that probably came with the portable hard drive to back up or sync files. The backup/sync option is doing just that on your back up drive. Open the software you installed and tell it not to delete files that you delete on your computer.

Verbatim Portable hard drive ? download entire desktop with applications ?

Don't know why you might want to do this, but assuming the portable drive is equal to or bigger than your system drive (C:), I would recommend you check out Ghost software (not sure of name) but this will put you on it. With Ghost, you make a mirror image of an entire hard drive. I used it to make multiple copies of entire PC's for classroom use.. i.e. Load one PC with all the OS and program software, and then connect other drives to the "Master" one at a time, until I had a classroom full of identical systems. Had to pull the drives, but since yours is already external, connectivity would be the only issue. USB should work, I would think.

My computer has stopped recognizing the 160 GB portable hard drive (plug and pray)

better plug it to another pc and observe if it would be recognized by the pc. well, sometimes, portable hard drives takes time to be detected by PC specially when it comes to age, better observe it for about 3-5 mins, and if its not detected, try to touch the usb cord of your portable hard drive connecting to your pc and make some adjustments to it.
