Hi

You can test the door switch, if the door switch tests fine then it is the control board that is bad and if the unit is too old then its better replacing the unit completely as the control board will cost you around same as new one. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

We have a Sharp R-1874-T convection microwave oven in our 2016 RV. It has been working fine up till yesterday, now it has no power, the breaker was tripped so we reset it with no results, unplugged...

Take the body cover off and locate the regular glass fuse near the control panel wiring and make sure the fuse is good. A blown circuit breaker is the first clue that the fuse could have also blown.

I have rescued tons of microwaves for the lack of a 50 cent fuse.

Kenmore microwave 911 41479791 no power?

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
No Lights or Power, Unit seems Dead First check is the main fuse of the unit. On countertop units, you will need to take the shell off. The fuse will be close to where the cord comes through into the unit. OTR units, this main fuse is usually behind the control panel or possibly behind the vent. Usually the fuse is obvious if blown, otherwise test with an OHM meter, if open, replace fuse.
Some brands will also have a thermal cut-off fuse in the incoming voltage line to the control board. Older Maytags and Samsungs have this fuse in it. This thermostat looking fuse is usually above the oven cavity somewhere under the outside shell. Sometimes you can get to it through the vent of OTR models. Test with an OHM meter, replace if open.

My microwave made a funny noice a couple of nights ago, but continued to work fine after that but now it's completely dead. Checked the breaker and it's fine. Any ideas?

Dead appliance, power on wall outlet.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARRAMOUNT!

Attempt this only if you are competent.

If your appliance has absolutely no functions at all, remove it from the mains supply, remove the case and see where the mains lead goes in to the appliance and follow the cable until you find the main fuse.
ONLY USE THE SAME TYPE AND RATING OF FUSE TO REPLACE IT.
The usual cause of this fuse failure is the door switches are contaminated or sticking. Check the door switches before putting power back on to the appliance.
Hope this helps.

Kenmore Elite worked fine for months, then went dead. No screen, no power, nothing. Cord is plugged in, fuse is fine, circuit breaker is fine also. Any ideas?

This will require trouble shooting with power present and a qualified individual should do this. Verify power at the plug and trace to the board. It could be a bad wire, loose connection, open cavity thermostat, or a failed board assuming power is available and the fuse is good.

No Power

Remove cover. Check that the fuse is good, if it is good, check power from power supply to main board.

This oven does not operate any longer.

TAKE OFF THE CABINET AND LOOK FOR A FUSE THAT IS MORE LIKELY GREY AND MADE OF CERAMIC IT IS SHAPED LIKE THE OLD GLASS AUTO FUSES. NO VISUAL (GOOD OR BAD) MUST BE TESTED WITH OHMMETER FOR CONTINUITY

MY KENMORE 1000 WATT LITERALLY WORKED FINE ONE MINUTE THEN NOTHING THE NEXT. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED.

Most likely the circuit breaker tripped or the fuse blew. A 1000 watt microwave is using 2/3 of the power available on a typical household circuit of 1500 watts. If anything else is plugged into that circuit u can have a problem. Just reset the breaker or replace the fuse and u will be up and running. if it happens alot you should consider a dedicated circuit for your microwave only.

Check your main breaker fuse in your panel/subpanel.

Otherwise if the inline fuse is good and the main power is good, then look at the power supply for the microwave.
