Try to customize your wireless settings. change the wireless name/ssid to something else and change the wireless channel as well. verify also if there's a wireless security enabled, if it has you need to use the correct wireless security/network key when connecting your laptop wirelessly. you can go to the router's setup page to verify your wireless settings by typing the ip address of your router to the address bar of your web browser, http://192.168.1.1 (note: by default the ip address of the router is 192.168.1.1 unless you have changed it to something else. the default username is "admin" and the default password is "password")

hope this'll help you

ciao!

This router is not working

Try the reset button to put it back to factory default. If it's still not working, it's time for a new router.

Netgear wireless router WNR834B has died ... no power ... no connection. :-(

You need to return it if it is under warranty. If not you need to buy a new router. I suggest getting a Belkin.

No Power to my Netgear Rangemax Next Wireless N-Router WNR834Bv2

This happens from time to time with these routers. It happenned to me with a Linksys and I found that the power unit in the router failed. One thing you could do is try a couple of different wall sockets or see if another adapter might work. Is your Netgear new enough to get replaced by the store?

Hi i have no wireless from my router. it says i have an available network but will not connect and vista says it is an unknown problem

you will have to go into the routers setting and set it to allow wireless connections. it may just be set to send out the SSID but not allowed connection. or the saved key has changed from the rougher defalt key

Msg. conntected with limited access

Try this.

Unplug the Router.
Unplug the modem.
Wait about 15-20 secs.
Reconnect the modem.
wait about a minute or until all the lights are solid on the display.
Reconnect the Router.
Wait about another minute until everything is given time to start up.
Try connecting again.

If it still does that, it may be a problem with your computer that your trying to access with wirelessly.

My mother had that problem on one of her laptops, it turned out that her particular installation didn't support WPA or WEP incryption. I did a full reinstall and now it works.

If you want to avoid a full reinstall you can try uninstalling the wireless network card, then reinstalling it.(Make sure you go to your manufacturers web site first to download the proper driver for your model)

I hope this helps,
Simon.

Problem w/ WNR834B router and Open iConnectAccess621 modem

If you previously had your computer connect to the modem, and are now trying to plug in the router, you'll probably have to clone your pc's MAC Address. See one of my first posts in my username account history for a more detailed process.
