I just got this MX310, and absolutely can't get the machine to fax a document. I know I have it connected properly, but keep getting an "incomplete transmission" report. There is NOTHING in the instructions about faxing at all! HELP! Thanks!
I spoke to BT, they sugest to put filters on anything which you vconnect, i know that it doesnt make any sense but they said that once youve got broadband connected to your line, all you connect next has to have a separate filters. try it out as i dnt c any other methods. It worked for him by the way!
Hello, I have had the same problem and was on the phone for hours on end with Canon. They wound up sending me a refurbished machine. It still wouldn't fax. I then plugged the phone line into another spot in my house, and Presto!! It worked. I for some reason think that the phone line where the pc is, will not work. I am happy to know that another phone line (within my household) works. Just for the heck of it try it. Good luck!

Faxes machines are capable sending and receiving data documents. First the sender sends to another machine details providing the return addresses. Requetsing the receive to reply the to the fax also requires providing fax numbers.

I have the same problem. I have been on the phone with Canon for hours. They sent me a new refurbished machine and it still doesn't work!!!! I called my phone company also, it is NOT my phone line. I am at my witts end here!!!! I have a filter plugged into my wall into a phone line into this printer. I am about to throw this thing out the window!!!!! Please if someone can help me PLEASE!!!
It dials the number, scans the doc but cannot seem to make a successful transmission.
