What does Code 5ud for front load Kitchenaid washer mean?

This error code indicates excessive detergent suds occurred during the cycle. This could be caused by using too much detergent or not using High Efficiency (HE) detergent.
The washer will not be able to spin out water with the excess suds. When "Sud" or "Sd" is displayed, the washer automatically extends the rinse time to remove the excess suds. During this time, the washer pauses the tumbling and adds water for additional rinsing. This pause allows the bubbles in the suds to break. This pause and rinsing are necessary and may occur several times to eliminate the suds. This could significantly lengthen the time for your washer to complete the cycle.
If the problem continues, and the correct amount and correct type of detergent is being used, we suggest running a "Clean Washer" cycle to remove residual detergent that might have built up in the washer. Follow the instructions in your Owner's Manual for cleaning

My miele 3240 is not rinsing clothes properly. I have checked the drain hose and it is not kinked and emptied the filter of about half litre or one pint of water? Still not rinsing properly.

You have presumably owned your washer for some time?
During that time you will have observed many times how long it takes for the tub to fill and how long it takes to pump out during the rinse cycles.

Clearly something is different now and it would help if you could give us a clue. If enough water is going into the tub and the drum keeps agitating the wash for a while before the pump starts and keeps running during the post-rinse spin, then it is doing exactly what it is supposed to do.

There have been cases where a washer drain that is plumbed directly to an adjacent sink waste has caused some waste water to syphon back into the washer. I am not sure of the cause but often the waste connection point is probably too low and the lack of a positive air break could be significant.

Sud error code

I found that mine was having a sud error. I removed the lower front panel and removed the filter. It was full of lint and loose change. I reinstalled the filter and haven't had a problem since. On a side note I found something interesting laying inside. A service tech guide wich stated to do exactly what I had done.

Hi please go to this above link, it is all explained at length what is going on and what to do.

This error code indicates that excessive detergent suds occurred during the cycle.
If a "Sud" or "Sd" error code is displayed, or if you can see excessive suds in the window:
There are too many suds in the washing machine. See the animation below for more information.
  • If you see "Sud" or "Sd" with the Rinse status light on, the washer is in the process of removing suds. Let the cycle continue.
  • If you see "Sud" or "Sd" and the Cycle Complete light is on, the washer detected too many suds during the cycle and your load may not be fully rinsed or water may not be fully removed. You may want to select a Rinse/Spin cycle for further rinsing.

Washer will not fill in rinse cycle.

hi, When the washer acts up in the rinse cycle, will it try and fill and then the water starts going out the drain hose? If this is the case, the drain hose is either needs to be raised to be as high as the top of the washer or, it needs to have a loose fitting where it goes into the drain pipe so it can have air **** back into the drain hose after it releases the wash water.
i know this is a lot of info that might not even be the answer but, I am giving you the most common fix. Please let me know if I have answered your question or let me know if I can assist you further.
If this does not seem to be the answer, maybe I need clarification.

Bleach is spilling directly on to clothes

I have the same problem and here is the reason and the solution. When you add bleach it sits in the dispenser until the rinse cycle. During the rinse cycle the machine pours a lot of water through the dispenser. The bleach is diluted and washed out with all this water into the tumbler and you clothes are rinsed with bleach. Sometimes when this rinse happens, the water does not completely drain from the bleach dispense. It sits in there. If this happens, the next time you add bleach, there is too much liquid in the dispenser and it leaks out onto your clothes.
Solution: Before you add bleach, take the whole dispenser out and see if there is a lot of water still standing in the bleach dispenser section. If there is a lot of water, spill it out into a sink. Then fill the dispenser with your bleach and it will all work out the way it should. I was having your same problem until I discovered this. I have never had the problem since.
