Check that the bag is not broken or full, check that the hoover is not obstructed on the inside.

Check that is not something entangled around brushbar or inside the vacuum hose, this is a common cause for red light on the Dyson Motorhead.
If you do not find anything wrong, it can be something broken in hose assembly, this is normally covered if your Dyson it is still under the one year factory guaranty.
You find a phone number to get service on your owner manual.

Wiring diagram s3755 hoover

Today I shortened my hose by 4" to get around a tear problem. You can use an Ohm meter to find the right 4 wires. When looking from the top of the canister with the hose heading to your left, the wires should be:
White (furthest connector away from you)
Black - to the switch
Red
Blue
With the Red and Blue going to the speed con trol curcuit board.

Red light stays on

It sounds like the plates inside the vacuum that detect the dirt have become dirty. I don't remember where they are, but I think they're accessible if you remove a certain hose. Again, I don't know which hose it is.

RED LIGHT INDICATOR

You either have a problem with the sensor or the circuit board. Most times it is with the sensor. Take the hose off, look inside of the part that the hose hooks to, you will see a disc, it may be clogged with dirt, try cleaning it, if that doesn't work, then the sensor may be bad.

It is called the dirt sensor, you can try to re-attach the wires if there is enough there to do that. Otherwise you would have to replace the sensor, it may come with the duct(#21), the other end goes to the circuit board(#36) where the head light is. It tells you if there is a clog, when the light turns to red.

The sensor may be bad, or it may be coated over with dirt. Re,ove the hose at the back of the vacuum, the head of the sensor is down inside that opening, reach in there and clean it off and see it that corrects the problem, if not replace the sensor.

I had the same problem. Took it in and the repair shop they said it was the switch. It was an $18 switch and $30 labor. Switch was a red on/off button with 2 wire leads and caps to screw on for connection. If you can wire a ceiling fan then this looks about the same difficulty.
