Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

I have a window xp home edition computer that i cannot use. I did a avast virus scan and deleted infected files instead of moving then to a virus chest and now all I can do is sign on and it automatically signs off. Is there anything I can do? Or is it completely broken. I am not on that computer now.

What you are seeing is typical of a Virtumonde virus that is going around at the moment. What you need to do is scan your machine with Malwarebytes and Superantispyware, but obviously if you are being logged out so quickly that you can't do the scans then you need to try something else first.
You could try a repair install, if you have your original Windows install disk follow the instructions on the web page to the letter:
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

If you can get your machine up and running again in this way try these two free scanners:
http://www.malwarebytes.org
http://www.superantispyware.com/

It may not be a virus. It sounds more like a bad case of spyware. You may want to download, install, update, and run something like Malwarebytes AntiMalware. It sounds pretty serious, so it may need the attention of a PC technician to fully remove the infection.

Hope this helps!

Spyware/virus

Download and and install MalwareBytes from www.malwarebytes.org and Superantispyware from www.superantispyware.com. You may have to install in Safe mode, but give normal mode a try first.
With luck and crossed fingers, you may be able to get the updates that the two antispyware programs will offer, if not then allow the programs to run anyway. They are quite good and I have used them myself recently to clear up this computer from a major infestation.
Run them concurrently ( at the same time ), let them scan and clean, reboot your computer, then scan and clean again. By the third reboot, you will be almost clean. I hope you have good antivirus on your system because it should work also as the antispyware programs are doing their jobs. In other words you will see ( with a good antivirus, Avast Home Free for example ) both the antispyware programs plus your antivirus all working together to detect, and help you delete your infestation.
Come back if more info needed.

Have 26 viruses on my computer i just want to take it back to factory setting will that help and how do i do that i had types of norton antii virses protection on it

You don't need to format your computer lesaharmstro. All you have to do is uninstall the current copy of your anti virus, and install a fresh new copy of avast 4 home edition.

To download the Avast 4 home edition for free, click on the follwing hyperlink:

http://avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

Scan and delete all viruses.

Then download a registry cleaner. It'll fix all bugs in your computer, such as system errors, etc. As well as remove spyware.

Download the reg cleaner by clicking on the following link:

http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html

Run the program, select the necessary boxes, and click repair.

Hope this helps

Computer is 3 weeks old.DLL module missing.cant open mirco works.did scan on computer,3000 errors were found

suggest downloading avast anti virus home addition from the avast website here , the home adition is free and auto updates, free to register too. after you have installed and done a pc scan with avast anti virus, may i suggest that you type in the specific DLL file you want from the google search engine. many sites sould have one for you to download. please get the anti virus first as your pc can get infected as soon as you turn one on. 'ad aware', ccleaner are two other programs i personally use and wouldnt be without either. good luck :)

click on the free registration link, they will e-mail you a registration id.

What in the H- is wrong with my computer?

the problem i think lies with the virus infection. if you do have an antiviru update it first and let it do the boot scan as some virus act like a windows files after the computer is on. to pacify this pleae update your antivirus and let it do boot scan and let it delete all the infected files. 2. If you don't have an antivirus go this link www.avast.com and download the avast home edition and use. i usualy recommend the avast antivirus. 3. With this download spybot search and destroy and let it scan for any spyware also. try it out
