Question about Panasonic TC-26LX60 26 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

Menu not working.........

We just bought this TV used from an aquaintance and for some reason the menu does not work.
The back of the TV says it is a TBM2AX04201 but I could not find any matches on google with that model #. It is a Panasonic Viera 26" LCD.

I press the 'ok" button on the remote to bring up the picture, audio, timer, lock, setup menu and then press 'ok' again to select one of the options and the menu dissapears.
The button on the remote obviously works because it brings up the menu in the first place!
We did not get a manual with the tv so I'm not even sure that I am pressing the right buttons!
Has anyone seen this problem before? The tv seems to be working perfectly fine otherwise.

    No go!

Perhaps I should explain better, the remote works, the buttons on the tv work, it just will not go into the sub menu.

    For example :

I press 'ok" (the round button in the middle of the big round disc shaped button) to bring up the menu with the the following options:

    Picture

    Audio

    Timer

    Lock

    Setup

If I select one of those options using the up/down arrows and press the 'ok' button again the menu just dissapears, it does not actually go into that sub menu.

If I hit the key to bring up the video inputs and use the arrows again to choose one, hit the 'ok' button the menu dissapears and it does not change the input, however if I just use the arrow buttons to select the one I want, lets say Comp1, and sit there and wait without pressing any buttons it changes by itself so that is fine but I would really like to be able to get into the picture and audio sub menus!

So I think I figured out the problem.

While doing some more research I have come to the conclusion that we have the wrong remote!

It is almost identical with the exception of a few buttons but the one we have only came with tube tv's and we need the one that came with flat panel widescreen tv's!

I have found it online and will be purchasing one very soon!

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:

NOTE:
Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.

Menu not working......... - clip_image001.jpg
1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.

hope this may help;

If only one button does not work at all or all do not work the unit may have a lock out feature that would be explained in the owners manual.

Hi, You need a code to match with your TV remote. The codes for the Ge universal remote for Sanyo are 0049 0097 0110 0004 0268 0012 0108 0180. You will have to try each code seperately untill you get one that works. Good luck.

I have a 42inch sharp aquos LCD tv and there is no power. The power button keeps blinking. There is no picture and sound. What is the fix to this problem.

Power problem are cause by many reasons, i.e Power supply circuit, Lamp driver circuit and most often the TV detects an error cause by power surges. To protect TV from further damage most LCD TV have protection circuit built internally. If this is the reason of your LCD TV not powering On, an error data must be reset back to zero.
To change data you will need to access the service mode and change the value of lamp error code to zero (0). Entering service mode requires a trained TV technician. Changing data can cause more problem to your television. If you are not qualified to service your television, please do not go to service menu codes. Moreover below are the process, pls do so at your own risk.
* Unplug the TV * Press and hold the {VOL -} + {CH+} buttons located on LCD TV unit (not in remote control) Note: If above didn't work, alternately use (VOL -) + (TV/AV input) buttons located on LCD TV unit (not in remote control) * While holding the above buttons, plug in the TV. * The TV will turn on with the "K" or "K123" appears om screen. * Use {CH+} {CH -} buttons to go and display the service menu. Note: If above didn't work, alternately use (VOL -) + (CH -) buttons. * Search for "LAMP ERROR menu" from the displayed service menu by using "up or Down cursor" from remote control, or alternatively use "CH - or CH+ to select "LAMP ERROR" * change it to zero (0) value, using {VOL+} or (VOL -) on remote control. * Turn the set off to exit the Service Menu.

Hello I just bought AOC L22W898 22" Class LCD HDTV and i tried to connect it to sony play saton with HDMI but it is can's be connect it says no signal. Other inputs working perfectly. I tried to...

It might be that the PS3 is sending an incompatible signal to the TV. I'd connect the PS3 using normal RCA jacks, and make sure that the video mode in the PS3 menu is set to auto.

I bought a 52" plasma

you can try unplugging it for 10 secs, then plugged back in. Press and hold the menu button and minus volume button on the actual tv. While still holding those two buttons, press the power button. Continued to hold the menu and minus volume button for additional 3 secs. The tv should turn on in about 30 secs. If that does not work call customer care.

Hi,

You either set the options incorrectly when running the "First Time Setup" or you skipped the first time setup entirely. Even though the cable works with your older TV, you still need to setup your new TV correctly to receive the cable feed.

The quickest way to do this is run the setup manually from the menu as follows:

1. Turn the TV on
2. Press the "MENU" button on the remote
3. Use the DOWN arrow key to highlight "SETUP" (the arrows are the big ring button around "OK")
4. Press "OK" to enter the SETUP MENU
5. Use the DOWN arrow key to highlight "PROGRAM CHANNEL"
6. Press "OK" to enter the PROGRAM CHANNEL MENU
7. Use the LEFT/RIGHT arrow key to ensure "CABLE" is highlighted
9. Use the DOWN arrow key to highlight "AUTO"
10. Press "OK" to enter the AUTO SCAN MENU
11. Highlight "ALL CHANNELS" using the UP/DOWN arrows
12. Press "OK" to start the AUTO SCAN

The scan may take several minutes to complete.

13. Highlight "APPLY" using the the LEFT/RIGHT arrow keys.
14. Press "OK" - all of the scanned channels will now be saved.

The TV should now return to viewing mode and you should be able to watch cable on your new TV. If the TV does not automatically exit the menu, simply press the "EXIT" key on the remote, next to the MENU button.

Please run through the above steps and if you are still unable to get the cable channels on your new TV, please post back for further assistance.

BElectric

Tv appears to be stuck in auto-detect mode

All I can suggest is press down and hold your menu button on the remote and roll around in circles. Also try it with the menu button on the TV.It definitely sounds like it is being pushed down enough to be stuck. If that does not work please write back and in the meantime I will research it a little further.Bought in March huh?90 day waranty too I bet?How long has this been going on?If it does not work,I am also providing a link to Samsung to contact them. You will need probably model number and serial number. If you have the receipt, registered it,or have a credit statement to show when you bought it,and you are really persistent, they will usually do something about it.Samsung is supposed to be one of the best TV's too.I am surprised by this issue.Good luck!

I have a samsung TV that freezes temporarily.

i've just some digging around and found that you can access a service menu and perform a reset which sorted the issue for me.

Access the service menu by pressing, in order, whilst the tv is in stand-by mode:

info
menu
mute
power

when the tv comes back on you will have a service menu; select option 12 (reset) the tv will then switch off.

this will reset your TV back to factory defaults.

turn tv back on and you should be prompted to go through the plug and play setup again - go through everything and then all should start working OK

Optical output on tv through dvd home cinema out of sync

Up front, i copied this from another site, so kudos to the OP there if this works for anyone...

Hi,
This same problem had been bugging me when I bought my LE37B650, everyone suggested adjusting the delay time on my AV amp but unfortunately mine does not have this function.

Anyway I finally fixed the problem using the following steps

Before you start make a note of your menu settings as you will have to reset them after this procedure

Turn off the TV then press Info -> Menu -> Mute in sequence then turn the TV back on again. This will get you into the secret Service Menu. Go straight to the AUDIO page of the menu. Don't be tempted to fiddle with things in service menu cos you can end up in a right old pickle!

In the AUDIO page you willl notice that there is a time delay set for the internal speakers of 100ms but for some reason this is not set for the external output so all you need do is dial in a 100ms delay there and that should sort the problem. Well it fixed it for me.

Note that as soon as you enter the service menu, all your other standard menu settings are lost and the screen will be set to dynamic for some reason so you have to go through and change everything back after you have done this.

Hope this Helps

This would suggest that you CAN fix the problem with an analog amp.

Also interested to see if a 2 year old thread is alive!
