My htc hero wont let me send or receive text messages. error code 97 and 2

Hi cassandra795,

try turning off then switching it back on.

or

It just means there is an interruption. Wait for your phone to think, and you'll see another text come through or even a phone call. then retry sending.

I hope this helps, good luck!

When I try to text any one of my contacts I get an error message saying code 97

you need at least $0.01 in your account for text messages to send... call the customer service line at 18883221122 if you live in the states or 18889992321 if you live in Canada and they will put a penny in your account.

When sending texts to certain numbers i get an error code 96 and the message will not send

Error 96 means you need to dial in the whole phone number...example 17085551212, not just 5551212 even if you are sending text message to the same area code.

Text message problem

Hello

You will need to contact the service provider for further assistance. There is nothing personally that you can do to the phone to make it work. Sounds like they will need to program the phone or your plan to include text messaging.

Try contacting Virgin Mobile 1-888-322-1122 . Post back if you need any further assistance Thank you for choosing Fixya!

Text Error 1121611611

In order to send a text message on the iPhone, you must have the entire 10-digit phone number in your phonebook. For example. If you are trying to send a text message to the phone number 555-1234, you must also enter the area code. If the area code it 412, you must put in 4125551234 for the phone number.

Hope this helps!!

Error 96 While text messaging, Help please?

I have the same problem. You have to use the area code, the full 10 digit number. Even the phone numbers stored in your memory need to include the area code for the text to send.
