Usually the software version of routers is called a firmware. You will need to download the latest frimware version from there website and upload it to your router through its configuration page. You get to the configuration page through the routers ip address, usually its 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1, you will need to type this into a web browser.
Login details for routers are usually engraved on the flip side of the router. For your device the login details are usually admin as username and admin also as password. If by chance it has been changed all you have to do is press the reset button which can also be found on the side of the unit. Hpope this solution has been helpful?
Firmware upgrade is a simple but a delicate procedure. Make sure you are loading the correct firmware. You should get your firmware from the website of your router. Installing a THIRD PARTY firmware to your router voids the warranty of your router. Here is a tip for a successful firmware upgrade. BEFORE FIRMWARE UPGRADE(push the reset button of the router for 30 seconds then unplug the power of the router for 10 seconds). Upgrade the firmware. After the upgrade push the reset button again for 30seconds, unplug power for 10 seconds.
Yes, both Playstation 2 Online and Xbox Live have been tested and are known to work with both game consoles online.
Do make sure that you are using the latest version of the routers firmware.
To get the latest version go to http://networking.belkin.com and click on Firmware. Make sure you download both the firmware and the instructions on how to update the router. If you are already running the latest version then you do not need to perform another upgrade.
To check to see if you have the latest firmware version open a web browser and type 192.168.2.1 into the address bar. Log into the router as instructed in the user manual. Once logged in choose Utilities over to the left and the choose Upgrade Firmware. It will tell you the current firmware version in there. If it is V1.20 or higher then you are OK.
