Question about Apple iPod touch
If it immediately dies when you unplug it, your battery has died. the reason that it turns on when you plug it in is that the USB delivers enough power to allow the player to turn on, but not sustain power after it has been unplugged. I would recommend going back to where you bought it (with the receipt) and telling them that you just bought the player and the battery is shot/won't hold a charge. Warranty should cover it because it is a manufacturer error, and not something you did.
