On this printer you need to replace the printheads after a while.

    "QY6-0055-000 Printhead

    The i9950 printer uses a QY6-0055-000
Canon Printhead. Printheads are classified as spare parts and as such
do not need to be replaced as often as the ink tanks inside the
printer. Over a period of time the resistors in the printhead fail and
    the image quality deteriotes.

When should you replace the printhead?

The printhead does not need to be replaced each time the ink cartridges
are replaced, only when print quality deteriotes and a head cleaning
fails to resolves the problem, we suggest checking with Canon if you
    are unsure."
    from

    Canon Printheads i9950
Just order and replace printhead from website above .

When you say deteriorated do you mean that the colors are a bit faded? First check your ink level if they are still ok. If they are then you can try cleaning it with a cotton swab with ethyl alcohol, make sure though that you let it dry before trying to print if the same problem persists then that means that the print head may already be scratched or damaged from wear and tear. That would mean that it needs changing although it can be quite expensive sometimes as much as the cost of a new printer. That being the case best step is a replacement.

Well then the most obvious reason could be print heads..The print heads get worn out after due usage of time..So Try to replace of then to get better results...Thank you...

I have a Canon I9950 printer it started playing up and despite head cleaning in warm water etc as recommended still did not print all the colours. I bought a new print head and new canon inks (always used...

I would check to make sure that the contacts on the cartridgew sensors are not fouled with dried ink. A q-tip with rubbing alcohol should help to remove the dried ink if that is in fact the problem.

Suddenly no ink coming from five wells (BK, R, G,

I have the same problem but it's only with the black ink, I removed the print head unit and run it under the hot tap till th ewater ran clear, then i soaked it in hot water and again run fresh water through it till it ran clear then left it in a bath of alcohol, i just used whiskey, but wouldn't recommend drinking it after, or before for that matter, I felt there was nothing to lose if it was a faulty print head as they are about £95 new. I had already run several deep cleaning programs and replaced the inks, but literally no black ink at all was printing. I havn'e tried it yet as it's still soaking, but I have also stripped the cover off the priinter and am trying to clean otu the waste ink tanks and absorbant pads, it's far to expensive a printer to just chuck out so here's hoping

Black ink cartridge changed on my canon i9950 but it won't print

Your printer will need either a new printhead, or possibly a purge assembly that cleans the printhead. Best to have a shop check it out so
you don't buy a part you don't need. If it can't clean then even a new printhead won't help.

Canon i9950 colour deterioration

You can try changing cartridge but that would help little since the print head on canon printers are on the printer itself. Although you can give it a shot first since that would definitely be the cheaper option.
