When you say deteriorated do you mean that the colors are a bit faded? First check your ink level if they are still ok. If they are then you can try cleaning it with a cotton swab with ethyl alcohol, make sure though that you let it dry before trying to print if the same problem persists then that means that the print head may already be scratched or damaged from wear and tear. That would mean that it needs changing although it can be quite expensive sometimes as much as the cost of a new printer. That being the case best step is a replacement.
