Question about Audio & Video Receivers

I recently purchased an LG HDTV 42". The sound keeps cutting in and out intemittently. Our other home TV's do not do this. I have checked all the connections and they are tight.

If the set is under warranty, request warranty repair or exchange. This is a problem inside the set and any attempts to resolve this will require opening up the unit. If you open it up, the warranty will become void. Please request warranty service and keep us posted.

mine did this I was told to pull out he plug and let it sit for about 20 minutes then plug it in. Hold the power button in for about 12 seconds to reset the television. worked good. oh keep your television away from AC s open windows. moisture can kill any electronics with just a few minutes of damp air.

No sound on coax audio input from HDTV

Check your settings on your tv. You may have to turn off the internal tv speakers in the setup menu in order to get any audio output from the jacks on the back.

I have a 42 in LG HDTV and a dish satellite and a LG surround sound system how to I hook these up to hear sound while watching the sat

See if your satellite receiver has a digital out socket in the back ( optic / coaxial ). If so get yourself an optic/coaxial cable and link the TV out to your LG Home Theaters optic/coaxial In.
Now if your Satellite receiver does not have a digital out for sound you will have to connect the TV's audio out to the LG Home Theater Systems Aux / SAT / CBL input using appropriate cables .Either 3.5mm phono to 2RCA or 2 RCA to 2 RCA cables.

To listen to Tv program sound through your home theater system you will have to connect a pair of RCA to RCA cables (Red and White pair ) from the audio out socket of the TV ( some times three sockets Yellow/Red/White labeled Monitor out. Ignore the yellow as it is video out ) to the Aux or CBL/Sat input of the LG system. Then to listen to the sound through your LG HT system switch the Input selector of the LG to Aux or CBL/SAT. Will work for sure.

what audio cable type are you using, if its digital, you might have to assign that digital audio input with the video signal? go back over your cabling, and make sure the audio is not going to the wrong input and also check that SP/DIF (coxial or toslink) is enabled on the setup menu for the blue ray player and satilite, they normally disable it by default to save a little bit of power, also on a yamaha receveir should have a indication light that lights when a signal/decoding is in action, refer to your documention and trouble shooting section of the manual, hope this helps
