Just experienced exactly the same problem with my lm1904 monitor, just lost the picture with no warning and now the amber light just flashes slowly. Have you resolve the problem?

i have the same problem also, ive spoken to a electronic whizz friend and he thinks its probably the onboard power supply.

I have just finished dissmantling and re-building my monitor and it looks like you may as well just bin it!!!

the main curcuit board is intergrated in with the power, sound etc. and it will be more than the monitors value to replace.

SOURCE: My computer monitor has somehow

Find yourself a dark room or wait for the night to come. The darkest monitor adjustment could somehow reveal some light when there are no other light source available.

You may also hook a conventional CRT monitor and make your changes (such as bringing your computer back to its original settings). The darkest adjustment in CRT monitor could still render discernible displays.

SOURCE: Monitor not working

It may well be dead. Try testing the monitor on another working PC. Also try a working monitor on the problem PC. Then you will know whether it's the monitor or the PC graphics card that's faulty.

SOURCE: on the right hand side of montior the is a screen

There might be a tool on your computer about that, you can check the utilities programs on your computer by searching in the Program groups of your Start menu and disable it. Your manual may give you some idea how to disable it. If you right click on that pop up window you might see an option to stop it from popping up. If those are not working, press CTL+ALT+DEL and select the task manager, then kill the process with a similar name. But you don't want to kill too much otherwise other applications may be affected too. Hope that helps.

I have an hp that is alittle under a yr old. it was working fine yesterday then all of a sudden restarted and went to a black screen. it shows the curser but nothing else.

If you can get the task manager up by pressing Ctrl, Alt and Delete at the same time you may get it going again. In the task manager navigate to the Applications tab, on the bottom right hand side click New task. Now type explorer.exe and click Ok, this should get your computer to execute windows. However if you are unsuccessful then I would put it down to a virus infection and therefore windows corruption.

All the best!

8gb Emprex flash drive has died. Windows does not see it and the light does not flash

check if the usb port is enabled under device manager. right click my computer then click manage. go to device manager and make sure that there are no red X or yellow ! on any of the devices. If everything is good, try your flash drive on another usb port or another computer. if other computers cannot detect your flash drive, it's broken.

A blinking Yellow power light means a dead power supply. Whats with all the overly complicated answers. Every Dell I've ever worked on that had that problem was the power supply and I've fixed hundreds of them.....
