2. Gently attempt to remove the piece under the doors to see if the drip tray is located there.
3. Some Samsung refrigerator drip trays are accessible only from the rear.

yes there is but most are not removeable.... remove the cover in the rear of the fridge, the pan is located around the fan motor that's underneath the fridge... I would try pinesol, bleach or odoban to kill the smell..... good luck

we had a really bad smell coming from the back of our westinghouse aurora. and yes found it to be emanating from drip tray at the back. To remove this we had to undo 4 clips at the base of black motor thingy, that the plastic drip box sits on. Then we were able to lift whole thing a bit ,(10mm up and 50mm out, approx) so we could tilt everything forward and sweeze and wiggle tray out. then cleaned with bleach. also we unblocked hole inside fridge that allows water to drip into drip tray at back.

Ronald Coons' answer was helpful, pointing me in the right direction. Sure enough, the drain was frozen shut. I had looked for a drain but didn't see one in the bottom of the freezer, didn't realize it was in the back. Anyway, I also noticed the drain tube sloped UP underneath the fridge, then dropped down into the drain/evaporating tray. That guarantees that there would be water sitting in the tube, ready to freeze. I don't worry about critters going up an empty hose, so I removed the clamp holding the hose, cut some off of the end so the hose can now go DOWNhill from the drain to the tray. If that doesn't fix it, I'll go buy some copper wire and implement the rest of Mr. Coons' solution.

Your problems are exactally the same as mine. I have taken the freezer back panels off and fornd the elements blocked with ice, the upper and lower channels to the fridge are blocked with ice and obviously therefore no0 cold air is going the fridge, I have de-frosted the freezer and put back together and everything works great for 2 weeks when the same thing accurs. My settings for both fridge and freezer are on the lowest possible, but the wife does fill the freezer with too much food! I guess I need an expert in!!

ok first of all. the refrige is in the basement. do you know what the relative humidity in the basement is?

you can check this with a humidity gauge.

Check the condenser fan, listen and see if it kicks on, if it doesn't then find someone that know how to take it apart and change them.
