Samsung Model WF7708N6W1 Washing Machine, just beeps and then flashes "door". Will not start wash?? Its always needed to be pushed in a little but now just assumes the door is not closed even though it is. Anyone know what I have to replace?

I'll give you four thumbs up because contained within your working knowdlege up there I believe you have indeed idnetified the parts involved.

It has actually been doing minor versions of the same since we bought it, occasionaly the door requiring a further gentle push wjem first closed for the operation to begin, but recently there has been a mild burning smell which had me worried,

I assumed the Laundry was getting too hot though, as we close the door now and just open a wiondow because of my increfibky swift 1 year old daughter, but I am kicking myself a littl now, becausd one way or another (Still under warranty over) I have confirmed that the problem and I should have been more woried about the burnign smell.

Upon inspection the housing for the wires that connect to casing for the sensor is completely burned at one end as is the receving connections within the sensor housing also.

Now, getting a Samsung techniciab out ASAPO and playing on the buirned smell having become a lot worse because when I saww the problem it scared me to be honest becase why on earth has that happened?

Not that I would expect to get anywhere but I;m almpost tempoted to ask for a new machine as why would that actually hapend apart from fault in design??

And, if it is commong usely that would quite easily start some sort of electrical fire if it became bad enough?? :(
