Hi

If the water inlet valve is fine and it fills with water then the issue seems to be with the float switch assembly that is bad and should be replaced. Float assembly is found inside the dishwasher's tub, on the bottom. The water that fills the dishwasher lifts the float, and when it reaches a certain level, it acts as a trigger for the float switch. The float triggers the float switch to shut off, thereby shutting off the flow of water into the dishwasher. A defective switch may interfere with dishwasher's filling and/or draining ability. Use voltmeter to test the switch. Set the device to the ohms setting x 1. Take each probe and touch them to one switch terminal each. This should produce a reading of either zero or infinity. Continue to touch the probes to the terminals, and press down on the switch's button. The reading should change to the opposite extreme. If the switch fails either of these tests, you should replace it. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Daniel

Why is there residue on my dishes when the dishwasher is done cleaning

All the reasons

The cause of this problem could be limescale or salt residues. If the residue can easily be wiped off with a finger, it is likely too much salt. If the residue is difficult to remove and comes off with vinegar, it is likely limescale (hard water build-up).May 29, 2023

I had exact problem with a similar model.Mine was about 8 months old. I could have ordered a replacement seal but it would have done the same thing after a few months (according to the shop where I buy/order anything that runs on electricity, most anyways). I opted paying a few extra bucks and bought a seal(not made by Maytag but they sell replacement parts that fit). Mines been fine ever since(no black marks left after high temp washing, etc) Following is a link that my guy orders from but you'll have to check and see if they have one to fit your model. www.apwagner.com/index.php?main_page=page&id..

Dishwasher is leaving white residue on dishes, won't come off

Their are quite a few reasons for a dishwasher to have white residue on your dishes. I will list some steps to take and help you get your dishwasher working again.
1. Are you low on Rise Aid? Most dispenser have a 1-6 setting right under the cap. Make sure your set between 3-4 for the best results. This additive helps in cleaning and drying your dishes and most manuals will say its required for best results.
2. What type of detergent are you using? If you are using the dollar budget type product you will get very poor results. If you are using a name brand make sure it does not have rise aid already included. Too much rise aid could cause white residue as well.
3. Do you have hard water? Hard water can make it more difficult for your dishwasher to clean. Be sure to use a dishwasher cleaner such as Dishwasher Magic at least once a month. Your dishwasher does a great job at cleaning dishes but when it gets dirty it needs a little help.
