I had the same problem.my touchpad no work no more.so i went to averatec site or whatever its called now and they had no drivers for the6200.**** i chcked under 6100 series and it had drivers .i downloaded touchpad driver cause i was on like hour 12 on looking for fix.then i extracted all files,then i clicked set up file,it told me to restart,then go figure the pad works fine now

I don't see any updates for windows 7. If there are any, they would be here: http://www.trigem.com/us/support/drivers.asp . You can either have the site "scan" your computer, or find your computer by category and then model. Good luck.
It's a deconstruction guide for a 6200. It will be very similar to your 7100. A word of warning to be careful of course - laptops are assembled with a lot of small parts & many small screws..so take your time & make a note of any variations to the 6200 guide so you can reverse the steps when you're done with the battery.
