Addressing Power-up/Start-up Issues:

1. Unplug the breadmaker.

2. Confirm the power source you're accessing is live using a blender, toaster, etc.

3. Plug the breadmaker in.

4. Confirm the breadmaker is receiving power:

    1. Some models have a built-in off/on switch. Turn it to the ON position.
    2. Some models make an audible tone when plugged in.
    3. Some models have a colored light and/or a lighted display screen that lights up.
    4. Some models require you press the Select button down until the unit powers up.
    5. Some models require you press the Start button down until the unit powers up.
    6. Some models require you press the Select button first to select a mode, then press the Start button.

3. No, you were not able to confirm that your breadmaker is receiving power? Sorry to hear that. Attempt to have the breadmaker serviced by a small appliance repair facility or discard it.

4. Yes, you have confirmed that your breadmaker is receiving power? Fantastic! Now reboot the breadmaker's electronics by pressing down continuously on the Start button until you notice a visible and/or audible confirmation, usually within 5 to 10 seconds. Beware: Some models require you press the Select button first to select a mode, then press and hold the Start button to reboot the system.

That should fix it. Hope this helps!

Special Note: Often the + and - Timer Delay buttons are pressed by mistake, delaying Start by up to 12 hours. If you suspect the Timer Delay feature has been engaged accidentally, you'll need to reboot the breadmaker's electronics. You can do this by pressing down on the Start button continuously until you notice a visible and/or audible confirmation, usually within 5 to 10 seconds. Beware: Some models require you press the Select button first to select a mode, then press and hold the Start button to reboot the system.

I press start and it just sits on prheat heat.

Many bread machines pre-heat on the whole wheat cycle. Give it up to 30 minutes and it should start mixing within that time frame.

Dear expert: I bought a bread maker last Christmas season, model is B2300, I didn't open it until yesterday. After I read all instruction and put everything into the container, and trun on the power,...

If the sound you heard was a faint "clicking" sound that just means your machine was starting to warm up. Since you have no experience with bread machines yet you need to build up your confidence. Recommend you go to you tube and type in "how to bake bread in a bread machine" and watch some videos there to see how it is done. Don't give up on your machine! They are a lot of fun!

My bread machine will not turn on. There is nothing wrong with the electrical outlet.

For the B&D All-in-one, on pg 12 it says "Press the 'start' button. For most programs, there will be a 15-minute delay before mixing cycle begins."

When I'm impatient, I use one of the cycles that does not have a delay (e.g. Rapid Bake 2

Breadmaker Won't Start

I had the same problem. Check the delay start button even though it doesn't tell you to. To get my machine to work the first time I used Menu #3 (which does not have a delay start) and it worked. Then I tried to use the dough cycle and it wouldn't go either, so I unplugged the machine, plugged it back in, went to Menu # 3 first to see the time (which was 1:50) then I checked the delay time to make sure it was also set at 1:50. Mine was not (it said 2:00) so I moved it down to 1:50 and it started 15 minutes later. I really don't like this 15 minute delay on this machine. I am going to try regular bread later and I will make sure that the delay time is the same as the time given for completing the loaf ( ie make sure it says 3:30 NOT 13:30. I hope this works.
