My printer won't print because it says the inner cover is open. How do I close it.

The inner cover is the flap that you drop down to replace inks, there's a small switch on the right inside that goes bad, you can try opening and closing a few times, but you may need a shop to replace the switch.

My printer keeps saying Cover Open and won't let me do anything else

Hi All printers have a protruding piece of plastic on the cover / lid, when out of place it tells the printer the cover is open

When you close lid it is inserted into main frame which tells the printer that the lid is closed.

Look for this it may be damaged. If so roll a small piece of paper and insert ito the recepticle hole.

It will trick printer that the lid is now closed.

You will need to remove it each time you need to change inks etc...

Good Luck!

Printer cover open error message

I had that problem too.

Unplug the printer.
Hold the printer cover open while you plug in the printer.
Then wait for the printer to power on while still holding the cover open.
Then close the cover.
The buttons should work and th error message should be gone.

It worked for me.

HP1060 won't print

Have you looked at the front cover to see if the tab there is broken? (this will tell the PC that the front cover is still open) So you'll want to go around the edges of the printer cover to see if there's anything broken and a small hole in which the tab would insert into. If it is the case, and you don't want to spend money on fixing it, then do what I do...Rig up a paper clip and electrical tape to work as the tab, making the printer think that the front cover is always closed.
