You need to uninstall the printer and reinstall it, it sound like you lost some drivers that help it talk to the computer.

If ink dried out it's done. Recycle it and get new cartridge. If cartridge is more than 50 dollars don't buy it. Go to Walmart and you can by a brand new cannon printer with ink cartridge for $49.00

My hp 5940 only prints half of each letter on the page


The only serviceable part of this printer is the ink cartridges which includes the print heads. The error is cause by a clogged or defective ink cartridge head. You can retract the cartridges and clean the head with a soft tissue, an 70% alcohol can be of help to loosen the inks. Reinstall the cartridges and test. If error is still there, replace cartridges with new one.

I have a hp officejet 5510 that prints the first line and the next is light and than dark and than light again


Hi,
The problem could be caused due to blocked printer nozzles or bad print head. Try cleaning the ink nozzles first.
1 Press Setup.
2 Press 5, then press 1.
This selects Tools and then selects Clean Print Cartridge.
A page of patterns is printed. The print cartridges are cleaned. Recycle or
discard the page.
If copy or print quality still seem poor after you clean the print cartridges,
replace the print cartridge that is affected. For information on replacing
print cartridges, see replace the print cartridges.

My printer is not printing anything orange, it comes out pink. Just put in new cartridges.


It sounds like your yellow is not printing correctly (probably a clogged nozzle). If your printer has separate cartridges, replace the yellow. If you are using aftermarket cartridges, you should try using OEM cartridges since they are spec'd to the printer. If you are usng aftermarket or reloaded cartridges, the ink may not be up to specs. In any case the yellow ink cartridge needs to be replaced. Make sure to run a deep cleaning and alignment after replacing the cartridge.

Cannot print with only one cartridge


The inkjet printers are designed to print wit BOTH cartridges installed. You cannot fool it to print with only one.

There are two ways to do this:
Method 1 Check the back of your computer to make sure that the printer is appropriately connected to the computer and is plugged in. If the printer is not plugged into the computer, find the printer jack on the back of the computer and plug it in before you move on to the next step.Click on the "Start" menu button which is located on bottom left hand corner of your screen. Click on the "Settings" bar and notice that a list of functions pop up to the left of the settings button. Click on the control panel icon.Look for the printer/fax icon in the control panel window. Double click on the printer icon.Find the icon for your printer in the opened window and right click on the icon. Now click on the "Preferences" option.Look for the menu box pop up with tabs near the top of the box. Click on the "Services" tab.Click on "Service this device." You will find the button on the Services menu that you just activated.Click on the estimated ink level tab and a graphic will appear indicating how much ink is left in the cartridge.OR Method 2 Click Start and select HP Solution Center . Select the Settings menu, then the Print Settings submenu, and finally the Printer Toolbox .
The Printer Toolbox opens. Click the Estimated Ink Level tab. A cartridge may be running out of ink even if the graphic shows ink remaining (see the note at the start of this section). I sent this in approx one month ago and am still waiting for a response. no matter what size print is on my computer when i print it out it looks like ants walking onthe paper. is the problem with the...


If it is not printing as it should even though the printer cable moves along the printing area, it could be a cartridge problem. If you have an old cartridge with a little ink in it, try to load it and see if the result is the same. Otherwise, you have to buy a new cartridge. Also, check if the print head is clogged with ink.

It is possible that your ink cartridge is damaged. Try using an old ink cartridge that worked before and try to print again.Even if the ink cartridge you are using is full of ink, when sensitive electrical components are damaged, it wouldn't work.

You can also try using a different printer to rule out the possibility that your computer is the problem.
