Question about Canon MultiPASS MP730 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Waste ink warning

I tried your solution but it didn't work for me. On my menu I get service report,#1 SSSW, #2 menu, #3 Numeric Param., #4 NCU, #5 Type, #6 Genesis UHQ, #7 Printer, #8 Clear, #9 Rom, #10 CS Set. It never says "counter". Could you give me every single detail to this process. I must be missing something. Thank you

Thank you so much. I did exactly as you said and my printer has stopped flashing the "wast ink tank full" message. Can you tell me is there a way that I can empty the waste ink tank????

The ink absorber is full,The waste ink error is based upon time instead of actual volume in the tank. You can reset the counter by the instructions below.

HAVE CANON F60 MULTI PASS. ERRPR IS WASTE INK NEAR FULL SEND BACK TO CANON WHY CAN'T I REPAIR IT MYSELF

It is not recommend you try to fix it yourself, you can try to manually reset the error code, but if the waste ink is really nearly full and you reset it, it could damage the printer pretty severely. Here are manual reset instructions for a similar model printer, it should work on the F60 if the buttons are the same:

1) Enter Service mode by pressing: menu-copy-#
2) select: Test Mode
3) select [8] printer test in test mode
4) select 3 [eeprom clear]
5) select 0 [ink count]
6) press the [stop/reset] key (returning to the state of 3), and press the [on/off] key

If that doesn't work try this one:

1) Enter service mode by pressing MENU,COPY,SCAN,COPY,COPY
2) Select TEST MODE
3) Select (8) PRINTER TEST in TEST MODE
4) Select 3 (EEPROM CLEAR)
5) Select 0 (INK COUNT)
6) Press the SET key
7) Press the (Stop/Reset) key, returns to the state of 3, then press the ON/OFF key

How do you get into service mode on canon MF6560 (image class) ? Thanks RD

Press “Additional Functions”, “2", “8", “Additional Functions” in succesion.
Display will show “#SSSW”.
Press “+” or “-“ key repeatedly to go through the following menu list:
#SSW, #MENU, #NUMERIC, #SPECIAL, #NCU, #FAX, #SCAN, #PRINT, #NETWORK, #CODEC, #SYSTEM, #ACC, #COUNTER, #REPORT, #DOWNLOAD, #CLEAR, #ROM, #TEST MODE
Don't make adjustments in these modes unless you know what you are doing; could mess things up. Counter mode is especially helpful though for observing the performance (totals, mode, feed, and jam counts).
