Question about Mitsubishi VS-60601 60" Rear Projection Television
Turned off VS 60601 [mfg 4/98] TV which was working fine, picture was normal. Turned it on next day and no picture. Cycled through the inputs but nothing. Screen is black but there is sound. Saw a label with fuse locations but it wan't specific and I didn't see anything that looked like the glass fuses with the filament in the middle I expected. I did notice some yellowish sticky stuff in a few places, not much but enough to make me wonder if one of the tubes is leaking coolant and the power to the projection bulbs has been protected by a fuse.
That model will usually leak coolant directly onto the vertical output area and that will put the tubes into protective blanking and you will have sound but no picture.
