Blacberry 8100 turns off when i press any key

Hi,

Looking at what you’ve posted, this is more like a battery problem let’s try some troubleshooting;

1.) Try charging the battery again: Keep the battery out for some time & then reload & check.
2.) If it's less than a month old see if you can return it, otherwise you can try reloading the OS.
So if you're willing to try that, do the following.

First download and install the Desktop Manager from here (4.6 without Media Manager is recommended): https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22

Next you can use the Backup and Restore feature present in the software to make a backup of all the data on your phone.

Next download and install the handheld software from here: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

Afterwards try reloading the OS by connecting the device to your computer, open the Desktop Manager, then go into the Application Loader. This will open a wizard that steps you through reloading the OS onto your device. More detailed steps can be found here:

Please let us know if that was helpful enough.
Good Luck & Thanks,
Shiv.

HI, no problem as such. i have a f10 model here in australia. do i need to download maps for uk? which i intend to visit in oct this year. thanks allan jines

navman f10? If so, check the DVD that came with your unit as they may be on there (if so, call up navman and PAY for the licence code) as they won't work otherwise.
If it is not on the DVD (definitely the case with the s-series) then you can purchase them off navman's aussie website - check it out though as it may be cheaper to purchase from navman UK's website (was the case with maps for the f20).

How to unlock my blacberry 8100?

The phone can only be unlocked from AT@T, you will need to call them and asked them to unlock it.

There maybe other unlock options, but I am not aware of them.
