Attempted to adjust the color display on my brand new Cobra 29 LX and now the display shows only the number 88 and some rows of digital blocks-the CB display is completely locked up and nothing i've tried will reset it. can hear weather and other people talking but can't find channels or anything without the display.

if you bought new take it back, the power driver may be faulty
and will need to be repaired

first of all are you sure its a bad antenna. I can key the mic with no antenna hooked up and nothing will happen the the finals but you may key it down with a brand new antenna and burn them also.Lokk and see how they are connected in the radio before you take it out and replace it the same way.You may want to replace your driver also.

Audio Transmitter and diode is burnt out!

you can fix it but you have to take it one step at a time. go to www.cbtricks.com they have the manual you need.

what else did you do to mess up this radio.

brand new out of the package don't need tuning. just turn up the power a bit to 3.8 - 4 watts and modulation set at 95% and you will be fine.

If your readings are below 0.5 with a dipole that is a excellent swr reading, most fall in the area of 2.0 or higher, you will not harm your RF output transistor, if you are getting antenna warnings see if you can recalibrate it.
