That usually indicates that your ink cartridges is installed incorrectly. You may want to actually remove and reinstallink cartridges, to see if that helps. If not, then I would suggest that you simply try cleaning the electrical contacts/chips carefully and gently, with Distilled Water on Q-Tips or on a lint free rag. Its possible that the electrical contacts on the ink cartridge, or inside the Print Cartridge Holder Assembly, may simply be dirty. Using damp Q-tips [not wet or dripping], gently and carefully wipe off the copper colored electrical plates on the cartridges and the electrical contacts inside the holder assy. Its best to use "Distilled Water", because it has less chemicals and minerals in it, than tap water and regular tap water can actually cause additional problems. Use new dry Q-Tips to dry off all the electrical contacts after cleaning...The only way to really eliminate a possible bad cartridge [even if it happens to be a new cartridge], is to actually replace it, or test it in another printer that uses the same cartridge and was working ok with its own cartridges installed. Unfortunatly, that is usually not practical, unless you know someone that has the same printer or uses the same cartridge in their printer...

Three lights blinking indicates that the board is faulty n all the major parts are at the end of its life.so plse dont even try to spend anything on repairs as nothing will help n u will just end up spending money for no good results.
1 more thing i will advice is it is always a better option to buy a hp printer as they can be repaired anytime for any problem and not like epson which has to scrapped after a short termed use.

Try first unplugging power cord for two minutes and see if this clears the error.

If basic hard reset (unplugging power cord) did not work try the following:

    1. Remove cartridges

    2. Unplug printer USB

    3. Unplug printer power cable

    4. Wait ten minutes

    5. Plug back printer

    6. Install cartridges back
Also open printer doors and check for fragments of paper or small foreign objects. Turn printer upside down and shake gently to see if there is any foreign object inside, such as small screws etc.

If it still returns error with lights flashing the cartridge may be faulty, if you have a different cartridge test it on the printer.

If still no luck, well it can be a mechanic error or an electonic fault, or the ink waste full, or faulty print head.
In this case you will need a technician to fix this, the printer is a budget model, unless it is still under guaranty the repair may not be worth.

My power light flashes and the paper light on. whats the matter, anybody??

Did you try to switch of and on the printer?
Could be something is obstructing the print head if the lights come on again.
Switch of the printer and check is anything (paper or something else like paperclip or...) is blocking the printer head. Remove the obstruction and switch the printer back on.
Epson has great support online that is more than just a manual or a new driver. Visit Epson just Google epson and the product name. skip the selling sites and go straight to Epson.

How to solving an Epson Printer "problem"

I thought the other day that a lot of people may be interested in having access to the vast pool of knowledge that myself and my staff dispense on a daily basis to my customers. As a nationwide supplier of printing consumables we often get asked by customers about related problems they are having with there printers, and obviously we gladly help out anyone we can as opposed to customers having to call expensive manufacturers help lines at premium rate call tariffs.

A favourite question we get asked is "I have just gone to print something off on my Epson Inkjet printer and it will not print", I then ask the customer how they have done this and have they changed any printer settings or installed new software recently. The answer is usually no I have not changed any settings or installed any thing. Our next question is "What are the lights /buttons on the front of the printer doing?" The common answer is, "they are all flashing at once, even if I switch the printer off at the socket and switch it on again".

We now know what the problem is! There is I believe a method built into an Epson printer that counts the amount of printing you have done, a bit like a car speedo measures the mileage you have done, but unlike a car where when you hit a certain mileage a light or warning will come up at worst and tell you the car needs a service. The Epson printer just stops dead and all the lights flash, if you dig a little deeper into your instruction manual/disc it tells you to call the Epson help line, who then tell you the printer needs a service at your local Epson dealers. I duly took my faithful C82 epson printer to my local Epson service centre; very help full and who charged me and gave me back a printer that worked.

This intrigued me so I asked a couple of my computer tech customers if they could shed any light on the matter, and they both confirmed my suspicions. You plug in the correct software and reset the counter. It is nothing to do with your computer, your printer, your brand of inkjet cartridges or your computer. It is simply Epson's way of getting you to their service centre.

So if you come to print with your Epson inkjet printer and it will not, and then proceeds to flash all of its lights at you. You now know what to do, unlike quite a few of my customers including my self, who spent hours reinstalling software, trying new sets of cartridges, both genuine Epson cartridge and the more popular compatible ones. I hope this saves some one some grief and frustration.

Power light & trouble light flashing , will not print

Are they flashing alternately? If so the waste ink counter needs resetting, which can be done at your nearest epson express centre

My epson 670 will print a test page correctly ,but when I set it up to print Photos [6 by 4] with fit to size ticked , the printer photo seems to be compressed lengthways, even though there is space left...

Using a combination of the ratio in resizing the picture and after trying numerous combinations of settings ,I stumbled upon a setting which, and after removing the fit to page tick , solved the problem. I think I'm getting to old for this .Thanks

Reset waste ink counter on Epson C60 printer

If both lights are flashing, it means the Waste Ink Pads in your printer are saturated with ink and the waste ink "protection" counter has exceeded its limit. The Waste Ink Pads should be replaced as soon as possible. You can restore your printer to a working condition immediately by using the SSC utility - download from

http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml

and use it to reset the Protection Counter. This will stop the lights flashing and restore normal operation.

However, remember that eventually ink will overflow from the waste ink area and make a dreadful mess, so you must change the waste ink pads before this happens. This requires the disassembly of the printer.

If you decide to have a go at replacing the ink pads yourself, report back and I will provide further help.
