    I wired the White wire to the W & the Red wire to the R. A Technician at Honeywell said there is no polarity so it did not make a difference where the wires went. I called because I had purchased another honeywell with a shut off. The Technician said I had the wrong Thermostat...I needed a simple 2 wire unit. I went to 6 stores before I could find a CT-30 unit...Thanks!
    I am having a home Safety Inspection on the mobile tomorrow morning to allow me to sell the Mobile Home.  A few weeks ago it was 104 degrees out side ..I had the temp set on 55 with heat lever depressed. The heat came on & would not shut off...We have been doing a lot of repairs to the home including sanding the kitchen floor that as adjacent to closet of heating unit. My husband bought me a Hunter thermostat...I called the Technician before installing because i only had 2 wire coming through the wall..She told me there was a jumper installed & i could install this but it ha a cool cycle & a heat cycle plus an off ...The unit would work on heat or cold but would not shut off

    Well maybe you can look at this and it will help you

    R=Red wire Hot 24V

    W=White wire usally goes to the heating side or W1

    G=Green wire this controls the fan realy (blower inside)

    C=Common wire can be any color mostly black test here and red to get 24v

    O=Orange wire only used in heat pump systems for rev. valve

    RC=Red terminal for cooling

    RH=Red treminal for heating

    Y=Yellow feeds power to turn on the outside unit (at Contactor)

    Hope this helps

All coleman gas units is incoperated with a secondary inner stat. It resembles a pie with numbers on its outer edge. Usually silver and the numbers span from 50 to 300 on the top and likewise on the bottom. You must not turn it clockwise. Refer to specifications of manufacture to allow proper function.

I wish I was a furnace expert but I will give a push in the right direction. When a gas/electric fan runs it has two speeds. When you turn on the FAN ON switch it should run at the slower speed. If it doesn't turn on or turn off again when you turn it back you have a wiring problem or a thermostat problem. Make sure the thermostat is compatible with your unit and wired properly (on both ends). The other time the fan runs is "in session" when heat or cooling is applied to the system. It should run until the system finishes the cycle then a bit more (30 seconds or 1 minute) to blow the treated air completely through the ducts. If it doesn't stop then you may have a bad fan time delay or relay. Check parts for your model and various appliance repair site online.

Outdoor AC unit runs for about 2 minutes after air handler shuts off

Hello, it is possible that the new thermostat has some type of time delay built in it. But typically this would shut of the outdoor unit first and then the air handler.

Hello my name is Heath it will be my pleasure to assit you. If you did not turn the power off to the furnace before rerplacing the thermostat then you may have burned out the board in the furnace. But first if there is a RH/Rc terminal in the new thermostat then try removing the jumper between the two and see if the thermostat will operate properly.

You may need to check the wiring between the thermostat and the inside unit. Also check the wiring in the inside unit. It sounds like you may have a jump between the 24-volts hot and the control for the indoor fan.

Hi my oil furnace keeps comming on every 10min the system is 1 year old and i just installed a new homeywell thermostat and set the gauge at 50 and the temp. is 80 that is way to hot in here.

Cut the unit off it sounds like it is tripping on high limit this could be dangerous.
Take the wires off of your primary control and see if this stops the furnace. the wires should be marked t and t Post me back with details

Gas Heat will not shut off

either your t stat is failing to recognize the high temp its achieved ,or the gas valve is sticking open despite no low volts to it= very bad. check for 24 volts at the gas valve after temp is way up past stat setting if you have 24 volts to valve the stats bad. if you have no volts to gas valve and valve is still open and burners burning, then the gas valve is bad. if valve has no power to it and is still on , heating try gently tapping side of valve. if it shuts off burners it was definitely stuck. i am not going to tell you you need a new modern system, because i think you already know that deep down inside .so much has changed as far as efficiency, gas consumption ,electric. not to mention the 5 and ten year warranties on most new stuff we sell here. with the economy so slow its a great time to name your price on new stuff. did you know some of the new stuff uses a third the electric in cooling the old units did? and the gov says in 2010 r22 freon will be mandated out of production so gas prices will be 40 dollars a pound by summer of 2009. new filter systems have one filter that last a year and cost 45 dollars and filters down to 3 microns? never clean ducts , coils, ever! wow. get a free est from a good reputable contractor. i think you'll be amazed. est should be free by the way. good luck, i myself like keeping those old ones going but there comes a time for all to go to the bone yard.

Coleman gas H/A not shutting off

Yes and No. Sawdust even when in get in internal parts will not cause the problems that you are experiencing. More than likely your sencondary thermostatic control for the condensor is not set at proper settings to work proficiently with external thermostat.
