Question about HP LaserJet 1320 Printer

1 Answer

Printer cartridge won't snap in

I've replaced the printer cartridge on my laserjet 1320 a number of times, but not in a while.  For some reason, it isn't working this time.  I removed the old cartridge, pulled the tab out of the new one, and then slipped it into place.  The left side of the cartridge appears to be willing to snap into place, but the right side -- where there are various tabs and connectivity stuff -- will not.  As it is, the door won't close.  I tried reinstalling the old cartridge and am having the same problem with it.  Any suggestions for what I am doing wrong or what I might try?  Thank you.

I ended up taking it in to have someone look at it.  They managed to fix the problem by removing the right side of the printer and fiddling until a gear retracted (in their words).  This sounds much like what you have suggested.  So thanks.

The toner sensor mechanism in the printer is not retracting up. It's a fairly common issue. Look in the top right corner of the toner cartridge cavity in the printer. You see an appartus hanging down. Gently toggle it up a few times and ensure it freely moves up and down. Usually you can toggle it up a couple times and all is fine.

Hope that helps you.

Printer cartridge alignment checks

Is this with new cartridges or refilled?

If refilled, the nozzles may have become blocked which isn't the easiest thing to clear. If new cartridges, take them back for a replacement at the store and try again with new ones

Does not print

Mostly, printer cartridge error occurs when the printer head is unable to identify the cartridge properly. And the basic reason behind this is that the cartridge is improperly attached. To reattach the cartridge, turn on the lid of the printer and then remove the cartridge from the printer head. Check the cartridge to make sure that there are no scratches or other damaged parts that can contribute to a printer cartridge error report. Take note that the cartridge should not be left open for more than 30 minutes; otherwise the ink will start to dry up and the cartridge will get clogged.

How do i reset my hp laserjet printer 1320 to its factory settings coz its printing faint and the cartridge is new and original?

It may be a defective cartridge regardless of its age. Did you remember to remove the pull strip on the cartridge? Is it getting more faint as you print more? If yes, replace the cartridge.

1320 printer given blank print hjo wcan i solve

This may be because ink is clogged in the print head. Place the clogged cartridge in about 1/4 - 1/2 inch of warm water for a few minutes. When ink starts to slowly leak out take the cartridge out of the water and dry it using a soft cloth to "Q-tip." Then place it back in your printer and run the print head cleaning utility that comes with your printer software. You may have to run this 2-4 times before printing quality is reestablished. If your print head is destroyed, as can happen, you will have to buy a cartridge and refill that cartridge before it is fully empty.

Blank paper affter print out

If there has been no printing since the ink cartridge was inserted, check the cartridge to be sure that the clear tape was removed from the print head. Also, be sure that the cartridge is seated properly.

If it had been printing before, then it sounds like the cartridge is either empty, dried out, or defectice. Try replacing the ink cartridge.
