check your firewall settings or if you have antivirus software that might be stopping the installation of yahoo messenger. try to download again the yahoo messenger. check you might already have installed it and might have corrupted the installation. check the program files folder if you can find the yahoo messenger folder then delete that or check add and remove in control panel if you can uninstall the yahoo messenger that you previously installed.
Download and install the regular version of Yahoo! Messenger onto your computer if you haven't done so already. The Yahoo! Messenger download can be found at messenger.yahoo.com or by clicking the link in the Resources section.Open a web browser and go to the shareware site Softpedia or Toggle using the link in the Rsesource section. The link will take you to the site's Yahoo! Multi Messenger download page.Click "Download." Choose a mirror site to download the zip file from and click on it.Click "Save." Click "Computer" and double-click on the "C:" drive. Choose "Program Files" and double-click on the "Yahoo!" file. Double-click "Messenger" and click "Save." This step is important; the Multi Messenger program must be saved in the same file as the regular version of Yahoo! Messenger or it will not work Click "Open" when the download is completed. Click "OK" to allow Winzip to unzip the program file.Double-click on the "Set-Up" file. Click "OK" to open the set-up wizard and begin the program installation.Click "Finish" when the set-up wizard is complete. Yahoo! Multi Messenger is now installed on your computer and will open whenever you use Yahoo! Messenge
First of all, DOS is an operating system on its own. It is not in Windows XP. Secondly, try running a search for the Install.log file. Without looking at the problem, I would say that it is just telling you that there is a log of the uninstall process. If it isn't letting you uninstall, run the search for the log file and go from there. Another approach would be to simply delete the Yahoo Messenger folder in the Program Files folder on the hard drive.
If you are in windows OS then press CTRL + ALT + DEL and click on process and then locate all yahoo process and then right click and click END PROCESS and also go to THIS LINK and click on download and then install it.
IF THIS IS ABOUT WINDOWS MESSENGER THEN
Problem: Windows Live Messenger Won't Start / Load / Launch / Open
I have this problem for a few weeks. Tried everything suggested by everyone who managed to fix their problems. None worked. I tried uninstall and reinstall but to no avail. Somehow if you upgrade it to the latest version, the problem solved.
I was desperate so I decided to go with an older version. Somehow my problem was solved. I can't guarantee it would work for you though.
1. Uninstall everything related to WLM from Control Panel 2. Download an old version from one of these sites (if you are the super-paranoid type and concern virus, try downloading it from Microsoft if it is still available):
3. Install the old version, but it won't work as Microsoft would insist you upgrade to the latest version.
4. Go with it. When the installation is done, WLM is back to normal.
5. I must add that my original problematic WLM was the traditional Chinese version, and when I upgraded/reinstalled I chose the standard English version. My windows is an XP SP2 Traditonal Chinese version.
So good luck to you all and hope that your end of frustration is in sight!
or use this solution 1. Kill all "msnmsgr.exe" process. 2. Run regedit (be carefull) and go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger 3. Select all the values on the RIGHT SIDE of this window. ie: (Default) REG_SZ (value not set) AppCompatCanary REG_SZ 8.5..... AppSettings REG_BINARY 6202.. ... 4. Delete only that selection and close regedit. 5. Run "Windows Live Messenger", enjoy!
First please uninstall the yahoo and install the latest version of yahoo messenger from net. Next please follow the step by step troubleshooting if you are still facing the issue:
Step 1:Reduce echoes by using a headset instead of speakers and a microphone. Place the microphone farther away from the speakers, if possible. Adjust the volume of the speakers and the microphone.
Step 2:Verify your Internet connection speed if your friend's voice sounds choppy. The computer modem speed must be 56K or higher in order to send voices or sounds.
Step 3:Go to "Actions" and "Call Setup" in Yahoo! Messenger if you can't hear, or your friend can't hear you. Test the sound by following the instructions that proceed call setup.
Step 4:Click on the speaker icon in the lower right corner of your computer screen if you want to test the sound manually. Uncheck "Mute," if necessary, and make sure sound levels are above 50 percent.
Step 5:Pick "Preferences" in Yahoo! Messenger if you have trouble with connecting to the voice server. Choose "Connection," then select "No Proxies." Log in to Messenger again to check the voice server.
Tips & Warnings
Follow your computer system's instructions for checking or modifying the server's TCP ports. Ports numbered 5050, 443 or 80 must be open for the voice features to work.
Install the audio codec software that comes with Windows. PC calls and voice chat require that the software is enabled on your computer.
