Tristar vacuum reset button

Hey there, We currently have sucked up a rubber band with our tristar vacuum and have not been able to locate the reset button to get back into action. If you have any guidance it would be much appreciated.
Thank you

SOURCE: The rubber band that turns

Generic problem for all Vacuums
The rubber band that turns

The rubber band that turns the roller on the vacuum keeps breaking. I just bought a new rubber band, put it on, and it broke immediately. Can it be fixed?

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
I see there could be 2 problems – either your revolving brush has hair or thread buildup in the ends of the brushroll of which is causing the belt to break and would need to be cleaned out, or check the bearings on each end – they could be **** as well, or the motor shaft or motor assm is not tuning freely and in that case the motor should be replaced and it is not the belt – one other thing is to make sure the motor is in there securely. Once you get the belt on then roll the pulley and the belt together to make sure the belt is on correctly if the brushroll spins freely.

SOURCE: Tristar vacuum has wiring pulled

I have the same problem with my older '80s Tristar.
This may work for your model, give it a try.
On mine, there are 3 phillips head screws holding the two halves of the cleaner together, and the rubber bumper.
You have to remove the screws first. Your model may have more or less screws.
On mine, there are two screws near the front wheels, down deep. I had problems taking them out, but not to worry, once they are loose, they are no longer holding the other half, don't worry about taking them fully out.
Also, at the rear, there is a small black plastic clip that has a screw in it. You'll need to remove that too. Once all the screws are removed, use a medium sized flat head screwdriver to go behind the rubber seal -- you're looking to get the screwdriver to where you can see or feel the edge of the canister. Simply twist the screwdriver a bit and the canister should feel like it's coming apart. Mess around with that for a bit, and the parts should come apart easily.

Tristar exl powerhead reset button won't reset

You should take it to your local vac shop for diagnosis. It may have a bad breaker, but it could have something else wrong. The way to tell if the breaker is bad without a meter, is to connect the 2 wires together and see if the motor runs. BUT BEWARE, if you do this and the motor is binding, it could burn it up. Again, the best thing would be to take it to a professional.

I transported my newly given to me by my dad tristar from Fl to LA and I can't get the reset button to start the power. The vacuum comes on, but the rug attachment is not spinning I can't get

If the rug attachment is not spinning, it is likely the drive belt has come off. Also, the entire intake area probably needs to be cleaned.

If the vacuum cleaner starts, the reset button has nothing to do with why the attachment doesn't spin.

Tristar vacuum has wiring pulled loose inside and I cannot figure out how to open the vacuum. It is a 1997 model. It appears that the rubber seal is holding the two halves together.

I partially sucked up a rubber toy but was able to pull it back out and now the beater bar will not turn. Is there a reset button?

The reset button is incorporated into the on/off switch for the brushroller which is the grey button next to the red power button. Try hitting that button separately.

I was told that you do not produce the tristar vacuum..Is this true? And if so does that mean my warrenty on my vacuum is void?/

try this site to order tristar parts and accessories.

https://www.tristarvacuumscanada.com/

most warranties are from the brand, and not the place you bought it at. tristar still seems to be in business so your warrenty should be in tact.
