Question about ViewSonic VX900 19" LCD Monitor
The power supply is shot, sadly, and you'll need to replace it. It's inside the cover and you should be able to find one on eBay. I have one, which is doing the same thing. It's not the connection, drivers or updates. Not the Hertz (refresh rate) or Resolution either. Hertz too high will give an "Out of Sync/Range" (either/or) box in the middle. Same place you'd see "No Signal" if the cable was disconnected.

I would suggest checking your connections, Video drivers, and also for any updates made specially for your operating system. Try an auto adjust, and also check your hertz rate and refresh rates on both the monitor itself and in the computer video settings.
