Question about Canon Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

I am having problems getting my Printer to print text. It prints graphics just fine but it will not print text at all. I have tried cleaning and deep cleaning the Black 3eBK nozzle but this has not worked. Any suggestions?

It's a print-head problem, the black nozzles are clogged out... sorry there is no remedy for this kind of problem..

But, try to ****-in air out from the print head's by using a syringe,
I am having problems getting - moz-screenshot.jpgno needle, on to the black ink tube, not the actual picture but I hope you got the idea. Then try cleaning again and a print test, keep doing this several times, but it would waste a lot of ink.

Hope this helps.

should be ****-in means to pull the syringe out to get an air out... "sack-in"

Have you tried printing text in different colour if that works the black jets are blocked- try running the cleaning cycle to clear (it may not use black ink in graphics)

Does not print text

Hey there thedeligirl,

It does sound like hardware problem. If the hardware is 4 yrs old, and the people at Epson recommend you go with a new printer, then it may be time to head to wal-mart =).

The only thing I could suggest, is run some kind of calibration, or "clean headers" option on the printer.

Will not print in black

Sounds like a driver configuration. Go to control panel, then printers and right-click properties on the Canon icon, try reverting to default print settings or make sure you are not forcing color printing. Lastly, try printing from a simple program such as notepad - maybe your software inputs color to the printer.

Trouble with the HP Laserjet printed output may be solved by using the following settings (or similarly named ones): "Use raster Graphics" (instead of "Use vector graphics"). This may fix the problem of "reversed" text (white on black background) not printing, as well as other problems. "Download TrueType Fonts as bitmap soft fonts" (select "bitmap" instead of "outline" or "graphics"). This may remove the overlapping of text on the printed document. "Graphics dithering" select "coarse" or "fine" (instead of "none"). This selection may improve the quality of images contained in the document. You can find all these settings in your printer properties. Go to File, Print, click Preferences, in Printing Preferences, click one by one all the top options, and change one of the top solutions, one at the time, checking your printing output. Always check if you have the latest version of Adobe Reader Program. If not download the latest version from Adobe, it's free. Is this the first time that you have the problem? or with the same printer (HP 4si), did you were able to print PDF files in the past?
