Charger for dewalt 18volt drill burned out a diode need to know what to replace it with to burned out to tell ??

I had to replace that on one of mine. It is not a regular diode. P6KE51A Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) Diode. That is the part # on the USA model. A European model may use different #. 8645a6dd-c755-4fe7-a00b-699ca51bc6af.jpg

Need a circuit diagram of a dewalt charger DE9108-xe 7.2V-18V one hour charger type 1:Q 96307-12/15 OUTPUT : 2.6A 7.2-18.0V 46.8VA

Can you (carefully!) measure the volts across them with a load (battery) and then the current through them by disconnecting one end, and if the charger is still working OK then they are V/I ohms, choose nearest value. 10k sounds very high, are you sure they aren't 1 ohm or less?

I have a B&D Firestorm 18v 1-hour battery charger, model 5100235-09 (240v). When I insert a battery to charge, only the green "battery full" LED lights immediately. But the battery never...

Hi I have same problem with the charger. Solution is to replace the charge with new part number issued from B&D Australia
Number of 90515050-01 until stock runs out , then it is replaced by part number of 90578873 early to mid june 2013.
Hope this helps

My dewalt drill charger started smoking when i put the battery in although it wasn't even pluged in to the wall and now won't work

If this is for the 14 and 18 volt batteries, this is what I found had occured on one model I repaired (I've forgotten the charger model number):

It had a shorted diode (the bad one had obvious burn marks on the pc
board). I used an NTE 5809 diode to replace the original one. BTW you'll need
a Tamperproof Torx T-10 to open the case to access the pc board.

I have 110 volt durapro 18volt dc battery charger, component R14 has burnt out beyond recognition and I was hoping someone could tell me exactly what it is so I can replace it. Thanks

Hello,
The component is a resistor. The problem is going to be determining the resistors value since it was burnt and you can not see the color code. You might try contacting the manufacturer and asking them the value of that specific resistor by including the number like you did in your post R14. If you can find a wiring diagram for the product, it should tell you the value of the resistor also.

I hope this helps you getting started in solving the issue.

If you would not mind, please rate my help. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You

Ryobi 12v charger doesn't work. I used a multimeter to check out that the voltage dropped very low. I would like to know how can it be fixed?

there are 3 posibilities:
1. Check the rectifier diode becos it might be shorted. You can check it with your multi-tester.First,ste your multi tester adjuster knob to "X1",attach the red pin/terminal of the tester into the one foot of the diode with a negative(-) mark, and the black pin of the tester to the opposite foot of the diode with a positive (+)mark. Now,if the needle of the tester moves or goes to zero resistance, your diode is shorted.,you NEED to replace it.
2. The stepped down transformer of the charger might be already burned.
3. the capacitor may have a leak( if there is a capacitor)
Some chargers have a 2 fuses.,1 of the primary( input),and the other is on the secondary ( the DC line which directly connected to the batery lane)You must check it if it is opened.

Bosch 18v driver/drill charger won't charge

THRE ARE MANY POSIBILITIES.HERE THEY ARE:
1. Check your charger's wire. Most of the wire s are always damage in the root of plug & to the opposite side.
2.Check the fuse.
3.Check the Rectifier Diodes. How many Diodes do your charger has?most of the chargers are only one, sometimes 4(a bridge type,& somtimes only one but 4 legs( it is also called a bridge type)
to test a 2 legs diode is just simply get a multi tester and adjust or set it in X1.,then look for the white band(mark) of diode,if you can see that mark, remember that it is the positive side.what will you do is put the red pin of the tester to the positve side of the diode,& the black pin of the tester to the negative side of the diode. If if the neddle of the diode will move, then you must reverse the pin of the tester, the red pin now will be put in the negative side of the diode and the black pin of the tester now will be put on the positive side( to the side with white mark or band).
now,if the neddle of the tester WILL MOVE after doing this reverse test: im sure that your diode is dead and needs to be replaced

Note:even most of the time you can do testing diodes attached on the board..,it is strongly recomended to detach one leg of the diode to the PCB or circuit befor doing the test.

Zivan NG3 battery charger diagrams

Hi,
your NG3 should have been preprogrammed for the type of batteries you are charging. The NG3 has the 3 wires from the power cord. Here is what I have done:
Brown from charger goes to black wire
Blue goes to white wire
yellow green goes to green ground.
