First ensure the vacuum had not stopped because the bag is full, check also that the hose is not obstructed.

If the vacuum does not start at all, check the wiring contacts to the motor, and check the start switch.

If there is no problem on switch or wiring , then the mottor is faulty and you need to get it replaced.

If you need to call a technician use the number printed on user manual.

Possibly cut wire, or broken down motor, would need to be inspected, looked at, repaired or replaced.

It was working fine and then all of a sudden stopped. The power switch still lights up but the motor doesn't run. What could be wrong?

you didn't state your model so I can't be specific to your model. It could be a loose wire, reset switch, bad motor, worn motor brushes, fuse, switch, etc.
You'll have to check to insure power is making it to the motor and if so why the motor isn't running.

My QL60 just stopped sucking. The motor and fan run fine.

If the fan is running there has to be suction. If there is none it is because the air in entering via some other port and bypassing the normal intake. Check it out. Check hoses and fittings.

Vacuum runs 10-11 minutes then stops if you unplug for a minute it then runs for another ten or so minutes then stops again I heard it was the bypass switch what can I do

Hi, I would say the motor is overhesting and there is a heat sensor in the motor that shuts it off w3hen its labouring. Check your hose for a clog . If that does not help check the filter aorund the motor to see if it is clean. Hope this helps. Chris

Motor stopped running...i have veard this could be

I have the same shop vac with the same problem. I have disassembled it and can tell you the motor core windings go to two posts of what appear to be some sort of fuse, and that's where the open circuit is in mine. (I bypassed it to test the motor, and it started up fine). Now I'm trying to figure out whether that fuse can be replaced.

MY SHOP VAC STOPPED WORKING AFTER USING IT FOR A WHILE

If by stopped working you mean that it no longer has any suction, then check the hose for a clog and also clean all the filters.

If you mean that it literally stopped running, then the most common cause is a faulty switch. If the machine is still under warranty, contact Shop Vac for a replacement motor, Switches for shop vacs are not available, only replacement motors. If the machine is not under warranty you can either replace the motor or the whole machine.
