Question about Kenmore 64802 Top Freezer Refrigerator
I have an old Kenmore with top freezer. With more people living in the house recently, the fridge has been jam packed. First it leaked on the floor, which I cleaned up, including drain pan, but couldnn't find anywhere it might be plugged. Now it's freezing the vegetables: lettuce, leeks, etc. There's ice on the thermostat control, which had been set to least cold, but is now set (as of this morning) in the middle of the dial. Any suggestions? I hope I don't need a new fridge!
First, clean it the unit out and fully defrost. Clean the condenser coils. Don't pack in so much food, don't open the door too frequently. Never block any air channels. Never leave uncapped liquids in the fridge or freezer. Set the fridge at about 40 degrees...use an outdoor thermometer. Freezer at about 0-5F.
