Go to symantec site and download the auto removal so that when you try to install again, you wont come across any errors.

what error code did you see? whenever an installation error occurs, there will always be a code. and with every specific code, there will be a solution and fix.

Have norton all-in-one-security but won't load

error message actually points to a LiveUpdate problem, which could just be a problem with your installation. Instead of uninstalling Norton and reinstalling it, please try the procedure below.

Please click on the link below and follow the instructions carefully.

Fix for LiveUpdate Error

After you complete the steps in this document, please check that your LiveUpdate settings by doing the following:

1. Launch Norton Internet Security from Start-.>All Programs->Norton Internet Security,> and then choose "Norton Internet Security" from the sub-menu.

2. Click on the "Norton Internet Security" tab at the top of the window.

3. Click on the arrow next to "Settings" to expand it's options.

4l. Next click on "Automatic LiveUpdate." It should say "On." If not please click on it and then click on the "Turn On" button. When Automatic LiveUpdate is turned on, as long as you are connected to the internet and logged in to Windows, LiveUpdate will check for and install updates up to 3 times per day. This is the best way to keep Norton Internet Security up to date and running smoothly.

Full system scan not getting completed

Open NIS and run LiveUpdate. Keep re-running LiveUpdate until it says that there are no more updates. Reboot the system if prompted to do so (you may want to reboot even if it doesn't say it is required, just to be sure everything got replaced properly). Open NIS again, select Tasks and run a Full System Scan. The error message should not appear again.

Problems

hey super

the error happened after the installation right?

what you have to do is go to the symantec site and download the norton removal tool to uninstall your norton. this will help get rid of any anomalies so that your norton can be correctly installed. when installing, you have to stop any other applications from running so that norton will have a larger bandwidth of resources in installation.

check also if your computer have met the required system requirements to install Norton internet security 2008 a.k.a. NIS08.

once installation is ok, go to RUN and type LUALL so that your norton updates will start.

hope this works for you.
