Chk and see if the the ribbon cable to the optical lens is broken. CHK also to c if the path the lens travel is clear from debree. CHK to c if the loading gear for the lens is moving smooth. CHK to c if the disc motor turning freely and not stopping suddenly. If all of the above is ok then the board could be defective..

The DVD player in my 24" Toshiba Combo DVD/VCR TV is working intermittedly. It plays fine for a about 30 minutes ... then it stalls for a few seconds, starts again, stalls, starts again, stalls until...

This can be either a dirty lens or the optics starting to fail. On very rare occasions it is the digital processing section. Try opening up the unit and cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. If that failes to correct the problem, try playing a music CD. If the CD plays OK, I'd suspect that the optics are starting to fail. Reading a CD takes a lot less laser power than a CD.

Have a 1998 Chrysler Concorde with 134,000 miles. About 2 months ago it started stalling intermitently. Would stall and I could restart immediately. Now it stalls once every trip at a certain engine temp....

your car problem is overheating, some car model like yours is designed to shut-down engine when engine temp. rise so as to avoid frying the engine. your engine overheating problem is attributed by one of these factors:
1. check or refill radiator water if less
2.check radiator cooling fan operation-if damaged pls. change or check the electrical system.
3. damage/ worn water pump-if damage pls. change the water pump.
4. check for any coolant leak somewhere the coolant line-pls. rectify the leak.
5.worn coolant reservoir cap- change if damaged.
6. clogged radiator-if clogged pls. change it.
7. damaged thermostat valve.

I suggest first port of call is a firmware upgrade you need a CD-R to do this and the correct BIN file and flasher from the manufacturers website.

Car starts, drive a mile, stalls.

try haviing your alternator checked advance auto parts can check it while its on the car and the can check the battery too. if thats not it it may stall due to a loose battery connection or a loose ground strap. if it stalls and everything turns of (electrical) it may be a connection or ground strap.
