Question about Mitsubishi WT-46807 46" Rear Projection Television

Mitsubishi WT-46807 - blue shadowing

We had this TV fixed last June - new power supply. In the last two months, it's started doing this:

If you can't get this image or want a bigger pic, there is a link here:

You can see the slight blue shadowing and mild bending, too.

It will go away if you turn off the TV then turn it on again. On occasion, it may take 5 or so "flips" to get it to go away but after it's gone, it's okay for the duration. It does come back after cool down.

Ideas?

Thanx. :)

Oh, I've seen some posts for similar problems about reflowing the solder on the ICs. Don't know if that would help here but I could do that, I just have to know which ICs and where they are.

Saw you had a power supply problem. Which one did they replace. I think I have that same problem. Thanks!

hi,
Error code 2-2 indicates "Short Protect Circuit" problem in tv.
Need to check pico fuses in power supply as one or two got blown due to bad convergence chips.
Below is an exploded view of tv chassis, power supply and convergence area has been marked to give you better idea to look for pico fuses.
Unplug tv from wall socket before to repair/check any thing inside tv.
Hope these info will help you.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

Burnout ? wt-46807

There could be a Pip problem or the vertical sweep could have went out also so then the set shuts down the video so it does not burn a line across the tubes. Theres really no way to tell what is wrong or it would just be a guess, a shot in the dark. Call out an authorized repair depot and get an estimate. Good Luck
