Question about D-Link DI-707P Router (DSDLDI707P)

1 Answer

Dim Power LED on DI-707P

The power LED on the router is dim. The other LEDS do not light up.
The power supply that comes with the unit is putting out the correct Voltage and Amps. The unit is out of warranty and I have traced the power and the voltage, they appear to be the correct rating throughout the PC Board.
What part could cause this issue?

There is apossible hardware issue within the unit itself, the chipset may have been damaged through age, surge or impact.

aside from the hardware issue, it can be a firmware issue too, and an upgrade will be the best move to solve the problem.

please contact D-Link support to perform further troubleshooting and to check on the warranty status of the device as it is showing signs of being deffective.

The power light is very dim and all 4 ethernet port lights are on and internet light is on too, but we are not getting any connection

If hard resetting it does not let the power light lit fully , then it already a hardware problem inside your router , no getting enough power. Bu dont worry it may just be too that the Power light led is just not lighting up properly.

Brand new router works sometimes

Hi,

the wall plug type power supply (made in China) may be likely bad.
This actually is a switch mode power supply very unlike the old and usual linear power supplies.
It is common the capacitors used in this supply are under rated and do not last very long.

The problem usually seen with dim LED lights on the unit, limited range and intermittent operation.

Try to find a replacement power supply with perhaps higher current rating.

Good luck

LAN led light alway on and flashing

Reset the router:
While the router is powered on press and hold the reset button for 5-10 sec. Release the button and wait until the router boots up (1 min).

If this does not work then you can try this

Try setting it into recovery mode and loading firmware:

Unplug power cable from the router and press the reset button. While holding the reset button plug the power cable in. Continue holding the reset button untill you will see LEDs on the router flashing rapidly.

You should be able to log into the router - you will see a prompt to load firmware. The firmware is available on our WEB site: http://www.dlink.com.au/tech/

Note - suggest you d/l the firmware BEFORE you reset router

Automatically Resets itself every 15 seconds

Check the reset buton it may not put properly adjusted, so it may be put the evice abck to reset. if this is okay, try and put off the device disconnect all cables that link to it. put it on without connecting it, then see if it is rest it self, it it doesn't then plug the cable one by one. this should help. good luck

Comtrend ct507 no power

- try to use a known working power adapter with the same specs, it might be the power adapter is not supplying enough power, or
- try to press the reset button (if it has one) for like 30 secs, then turn the device off for another 30 secs. (Note: this might delete all the settings on the device)
- most probably the device is dead if same thing happens after pressing the reset button.

hope this'll help you

No power led, wlan led blinking

well, what you could try is unplugging the power source from the cable modem, and the router. wait about 1 minute. then plug everything back in and wait.

i remember having this problem as well, but i think the problem with me was that my wireless computer was too far away from the wireless router, not saying that your too far or not, but that what i had, so i just pitched the wireless adapter, and created an ethernet connection. just sharing my experience.

DI 707P router stops working.

Hi,

I'm not sure about your Router whether you use it for Cable or DSL.
If you use it for cable, unscrew the coaxial cable and do factory defaults your router and re-plug the coaxial.
- if it is DSL, isolate the filter/spliter and connect the phone cable directly from the walljack to the router and do factory defaults the device. re-configure the router.
- Check the firmware version of the device whether it is latest one.
