IF OUR CD DRIVE WHICH IS MY COMPUTER FILE IS GONE(IN MY COMPUTER IT HAS DISAPPEARED) THEM FROM WHERE WILL I DOWNLOAD NEW LG SUPER MULTI DRIVE INSTALLER?

Hi Kundan,

Its not that you need to install anything to make your CD or DVD drive reappear in the My Computer list of Drives. The answer lies elsewhere.

CAUTION / WARNING!: Go ahead and follow these steps only if you are confident of doing it. Else get it done from a hardware engineer.

1. Switch OFF your PC's power supply and unplug it from the AC mains outlet.
2. Open the cover of your PC & look for the data cable connecting your CD/DVD drive to the motherboard.
3. Remove the data cable from the motherboard end and put it back in the same manner.
4. Do the same on the CD/DVD Drive's end as well.
5. Also remove and put in again the power socket of the CD/DVD Drive.
6. put back the PC's cover.
7. Plug in your PC to the AC Mains and switch ON the power.
8. Start you PC and let it boot normally.
8a. Go into your CMOS setup (by either pressing the Del key or the F2 key) whatever the case
might be. Here, look for auto detection of the drives attached to the motherboard's SATA or
IDE ports (again whatever your case may be) If it shows your drives i.e. Hard drive and the
CD/DVD drive then it should appear when you restart your PC. Press F10 and say Y in the
Save & Exit Setup window. This will save your CMOS settings and reboot.
9. Once everything has started up and you see your desktop with its icons & everything, go in My Computer and see again for the CD/DVD drive. It must appear.

If it still doesn't appear then try this:

My advent cd drive stopped working what could it stop working

Either your CD/DVD drive is dirty & needs to be cleaned, or the drive has gone bad & needs to be replaced.
First, try to take the drive off the laptop. Open the drive & blow compressed air into it (from a can of compressed air) to clean it. You could also clean the lens (the small round glassy object inside the drive) using lens cleaning tissues & lens cleaning fluid.
If this did not fix the problem, you will need to replace the CD/DVD drive with a working one, or use an external CD/DVD drive.

Did a clean reinstall of Vista Ultimate. SH-S183L working fine prior; afterwards, recognized in Device Manager & "working properly" oer DM, but listed as CD Drive in My Computer & non-functional...

What sometimes works is disconnecting the drive and then switch on the computer, allow it to boot and then close it down and reconnect the drive. If the drive and the motherboard and components are good the found new hardware wizard should appear or the system should tell you the drive has been recognised and installed automatically.

If it doesn't then try another drive.

Acer Aspire cd/dvd/rw drive 'missing'

Go to device manager and look for the dvd/cd on the list. Click on the "+" sign and you may have a yellow, red or black symbol. right-click on the device and reinstall the driver. That should get it working again. If not then try the troubleshooting in the device manager, same place you reinstall the driver. Follow the instructions. If none of that works then it needs to be replaced.

Pls rate this solution.
