How do I download pictures from my digital video camera to my computer.
I install the CD-ROM that came w/camera and used the USD driver as instructed. The pictures came up on the removeable disk drive 'F' (all picutures were good). The problem is I want to put them onto Craigslist so I can sell an item. I have tried sending them to another email, however, they come out huge and I can't figure out how to get them small (they take up the whole screen). As you can tell, I'm not computer smart. Can anyone of you be so kind and help me out with these problems? Thank you!
Also, just to let you know, I have windows 98 and use a modem.
It's a Traveler DV 5040 , 5.0 mega pixel digital video camera.

Re: How do I download pictures from my digital video...
This is a good question for Mike258. He is very good with imaging, and recently helped me with some pics. You can find him in the find experts section on Fixya's home page. Once you find him, you can ask him directly, or at least it will go to his askers column and he'll get back to you in a reasonable amount of time. Tell him Pyrhyc refered you.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

You can download it from Cannon, support, downloads, choose model. This is horrible software by the way. Once you have the basic driver for your model installed(Windows has many drivers pre-installed for many cameras), you are better off using MS picture and fax viewer. It does not have the lengthy and overly complicated stuff that comes with the camera. Anything that comes with the camera for free is usually junk written by grad students to practice their software engineering.
How do I transfer pictures on my digital camera
to my computer?
AFTER INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE FIRST, WITHOUT THE CAMERA
BEING CONNECTED TO THE COMPUTER, DOTHE FOLLOWING: 1.
Turn on the Camera, and change it o "Playback" mode.
2. Connect the camera with computer using USB port.
3. The LCD display of the camera turns off automatically,
and the computer said " that a new hardware attached
would be detected". 4. Go to "My Computer", and you
can find a new drive saying "Removable disk". Double
click it and you can find your pictures and videos inside
the folder. Just copy them to your computer's hard disk.
This procedure is slightly different for each digital
camera model. You will need to refer to your instruction
manual (Included on the CD-Rom that came with your camera)
for exact instructions on how to properly install your
camera and download your pictures. The main thing is
to first install all of the software on the included
CD-Rom disc to your computer BEFORE CONNECTING THE DIGITAL
CAMERA TO THE COMPUTER. If you do not do this, Windows
will put in its own driver and it is virtually impossible
on some computers to get this driver out of Windows
and install the proper one. However, if you do find
yourself in this position. You can TRY the following.
First unhook the camera from the computer, go to: Start
/ Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs. Next, look for
all of the DIGITAL CAMERA software listed under the
"Installed Software List" and uninstall that software.
This is the same software you HAD installed after hooking
up the camera to the computer. Once you have uninstalled
ALL OF THE CAMERA software, reboot the computer, then
re-install the software WITHOUT the camera connected
to the computer. If this works, great! if not it is
because Windows refuses to accept the new digital camera
driver or Mass Media Driver needed and short of reinstalling
the Windows software there is very little you can to
do to make it work other than by purchasing a different
model digital camera and installing the software FIRST
before attaching the camera to the computer. If you
think this is just a Cobra Digital problem, do a search
on the internet. It occurs with almost all brands of
digital cameras on the market, usually the ones that
use proprietary drivers instead of mass media drivers.
no problem, go to the website: http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/download/supportDownMain.do and follow the instructions on screen to find your camera and it will give you an option to download the drivers and other software avalible for your camera! (also worth doing this when you get home to make sure you have all the upto date drivers!!)
first you need to download this link , so you be able to install your digital camera info and then you be able to download your pictures , click here: www.opendrivers.com/.../umax-astrapix-650-digital-camera-driver-windows-98se-me-2000-xp-free-download.html .
To get going, insert the CD that came with the camera into your computer. Instead of choosing the autorun, install the DVIX application before commencing to install other desired applications. With the above sequence, you will be able to install the camera driver and will be able to download your pictures into your computer. Howerver, during the download, the computer will ask you if you will want to scan your camera and fix problem or continue, chose continue that is don't scan. Enjoy your camera and computer interface.
Go to this link and you can download the manual, drivers and software for your camera - everything that would have been on the cd rom. just download these and follow the installation instructions;
Hope this helps, ask again if you have any questions :)
With some specific exceptions, PENTAX digital camera products are compatible with Windows 98 or later and MacOS 8.6 or later.
If you use an operating system that is incompatible with your PENTAX digital camera, you may still be able to download your pictures. Since most of our digital products use a memory card such as Compactflash™, Secure Digital™, etc., you can obtain a reader (sold separately) for your memory card. Then, instead of connecting the camera to the computer, you can eject your memory card from the camera an insert it directly into your card reader. You simply will need to shop around for a card reader that is compatible with the operating system you use.
Some computers have the capability of automatically recognizing PENTAX digital cameras, and some do not. Depending on what type of computer you have and the OS you work with, you may need to download the appropriate driver from the CD-ROM that accompanied your camera or download from the PENTAX web site. Driver firmware updates, and other information can be downloaded in our technical updates section.
