Some recommend cleaning the heads to solve the problem. Others suggest tapping it on the side. You might check with JVC to see if there is an extended warranty.

I found that pushing down on the tape after it is pulled back into the machine and while the gears are working prevents this error. When the cover is closed and the tape operated, the error came again but by stuffing a rag, paper towel, rubber from a bicycle inner tube or anything that pushed down on the tape when the door is closed prevented the error. So do both - 1) push down before closing and 2) suff rag to push down after closing. Works for me. I hope it works for you if you have the same problem.

Lock

Hi there,

The disc lock function has been activated on your JVC XV-N320, when in this mode the tray cannot be opened or closed.

If you press the 'eject' button whilst pressing down the 'stop' button on the machine in standby mode the disc lock will deactivate. To turn it back on you follow the same procedure. This is also described in the user manual for this model of TV umder trouble shooting on page 13.

Hope this helps,

James

JVC GR-DVM55U Error E06

HI,

"E06" it is the carriage mechanism that has failed. and will not carry the tape to the heads and thus is not passing the sensor that tells you if the tape is in position and then telling the unit as it should there is fault.
take it to the nearest dealer and get it fixed.

Software needed to download JVC GR-DVL707

most cam corders either have cables that come with it that will plug into your vcr or you will need a firewire connector ( if you post back with make and model of your cam corder ) you should be able to go from there.

The manuals should tell you how.

Generally speaking a firewire cable should allow you to do it.
