You might have started a cycle and opened the door by mistake.  try pressing HI TEMP, AIR DRY, HI TEMP, AIR DRY close door to latch, press cancel.
it worked with mine.  you can give it a try.

I own model KUDP 02C RBL3 which has a FRICTION DOOR CATCH that has never worked more than a couple of times (worst design ever for a dishwasher). When the wash cycle starts the water pressure from inside hits the door and opens it just enough to trip the start/stop "door open" safteybutton. Warrenty service came once and "fixed" the latch and it worked for 6 washings. I have since added two clips to the side of my cabnet that I hold the door closed tightly with. Its is a bit cobbled up for such a nice looking and nice working dishwasher but I could see no hope in making the catch that came with the dishwasher work. I made my clips out of ridged conduit clamps screwed with one drywall screw to my cabnet on eather side or the washer. I wrapped the clips with black electrical tape so they don't stand out too much. My wife complains a bit but she likes the way the washer works even with the extra door hold downs.

Hi. Pressing and holding the cancel button may reset the unit at this time,as well as, pulling the ac plug out of the wall outlet for five minutes. With that said, I will provide the proper reset sequence below. 1. Open the door of the unit slightly. 2. Within three seconds, press the following sequence in this order-high temp scrub, energy saver dry, high temp scrub, energy saver dry. 3. After the sequence, close the unit door and latch it. 4. After the door is closed, press the cancel button. This will reset the main control, unless there is major damage to the circuitry of the control board.

Our dishwasher is blinking CL - i think this means 'Close'... Even when the door is properly closed, it blinks CL and won't start!! Help!

Hi

Error CL appears when the dishwasher control detects door switch is open or door is open. You'll have to open the door and check the continuity of the door switch. If the door seems to be closed then it is the control has detected an issue with the door latch. Check the door latch & seals to make sure door is closing fine. Unplug the dishwasher from power outlet and wait for 10-15 minutes. Restart the dishwasher and check if the error is still there. If error still appears then you'll need to repalce the door switch/door latch. Hope this helps... Please post back for further assistance.

hELLO THERE AND THANKS FOR USING FIXYA
Yes this is certainly a problem when the door will not latch properly.
See the door needs to latch properly to allow the door latch solinoid to complete the circuit
Often times the latch just needs to be readjusted by removingthe panel inside the door and readjusting the latch this takes some doing and several tries at it to get it to latch right but once it does youshould find out that the machine should operate properly after this
However if it does not then you would want to probably replace the full latch assy ok please keep me posted on how this is going i can give you further instructions if needed
Best regards michael

Hi

If the clean light flashes 7 times, pauses, then repeats...

When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it stops working and locks the functions (clean light flashes 7 times, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.

To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

...all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2 minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.

If the issue returns, you could have a problem with the heating circuit (ie. element, thermostat or wiring).
It rarely happens but it could also be the door switch not engaging properly when the door is closed (slightly bend the door latch down making sure it doesn't hit the door when you close it).

Thanks Daniel

Dishwasher won't run. Normal light and cancel light flashing cont

Hi,

The door latch pulls the door tightly closed to prevent water leakage around the door. It is also designed to prevent operation while the door is open. The door latch works in concert with the door switch to ensure that the door is tightly closed and latched. The door switch is a separate part from the door latch and is found inside the cabinet. The switch is off when the door is open. Depressing the switch closes the circuit and enables dishwasher operation. Closing the door does not depress the switch all the way. Only when the door is closed and latched, does the door fully depress the switch.

If the door latch is not properly aligned it may not pull the door tightly closed and the door switch will not be fully depressed. Unless the switch is fully depressed the dishwasher will not operate. It is a simple matter to determine whether the door latch is the problem. Simply open the door, close the latch and select a cycle and depress the switch. Note that if the test is successful, with the door open, the dishwasher will operate and water may spray out. Make sure to first remove all tools from inside the dishwasher. Do not reach inside the dishwasher during the test. Now, inspect the cabinet where the door makes contact with it and locate the door switch. It may have a protruding button or spike or more likely it is a hole with a piece of metal or plastic inside it. You must fully depress that switch. If the switch is recessed, then use a non-conductive object, such as a wooden pencil, to depress the switch.

Thank you !!

Need door latch diagram Kitchen Aid dishwasher (Part No. 9744033)

I thought the metal bar had to be locked into place somewhere in the black latch. This was not the case. I just put the white plastic latch in place in the slot in the door and closed the panel and the metal bar went into the correct position against the black latch.

Kitchenaid dishwasher - door will not latch

The latch needs to be replaced. Kitchen Aid has made two updates to this latch. I.E. 2-revised latches. I just replacd the latch assembly and the dishwasher works fine now. Do a search for kitchen aid repair parts online and hav them shipped to your home. The repair takes five minutes. Un-screw all torx bit screws on door and the latch is under neath. One electrical dip switch held on by another screw and a two prong tab to undo the old latch. This seriously took me five minutes to repair and the parts were $40.00 online shipped.

Hope his helps.
