You need to add the sticks, leaves, and honey-water to the habitat, then trabsfer the caterpillers to the habitat. They will feed off of the sticks, leaves and honey water. after a couple weeks they will build cocoons and hang themselves from the sticks. (They don't eat anything during this time.) When they come out of their cocoons, they will be butterflies. Once they are all out of their cocoons, you will have to release them in a couple days. They cannot survive inside the habitat.

You have to free them in a large netted cage, and hang a cloth rinsed in honey, for them to feed. Usually catterpillers eats Mulbury leaves. OK.
Hello = Sometimes the web site I gets here won't appear to you. Just type in "SAFARI BACKYARD SAFARI OUTFITTERS BUTTERFLY HABITAT" IN Google search box and search. I here gets that sites. I don't know where are you from now, I'm from South India. There is nothig to study about. They have send you butterflys in a cage. You have to release them into a large cage [netted one ofcurse] and set the free. Give them food. Just hang a clean cloth dipped in honey. put some soil [moistered] in one corner so that these createures will **** the water from that soil, and feed the honey; will grow up. Breed and will lay egg. These eggs wil hatch and small larva will emerge. The food of these larva is green leaves; mainly leaves of Mulbury. They will grow faster, and turn to coccoons. Anyway, you have to make a large netted cage to set them free inside it. OK.

That link is saying it is unknown. Can you repost it?
Link did not work. My main question is whether I am supposed to leave the catipillars in the small cup they are in now, or do I transfer them to the purchased habitat? If I am supposed to move them, how do they expect me to keep them in the hanging cocoon position when there is no way to hang the lid to the container inside the habitat.
I have the net cage, They sent me catipillars, not butterflys. I don't know if I am supposed to put the catipillars in the cage or leave them in the jar they came in. They are already attaching themselves to the lid of the jar.
Very helpful. Thank you so much for making this project much more simple for me. It was my four year old's idea!
